I have a 2002 chevy avalanche z71 when I put it into 4wd my frond end feels like it's all over the place I put the truck up in the air and when I engage the 4wd the driver and rear tires spin but the passenger one dosent unless u give it gas any input would be greatly appreciated

I may need somebody else more knowledgeable than me to verify but the front differential is an open differential so it may not be unusual for only one wheel to spin while the rear has a locker which cause both to spin. Are you driving it on dry pavement when it's jumping? They aren't meant to be driven on dry pavement in 4wd.

No in the snow the front end jumps around like crazy only in 4wd rear rwd is its fine but I put it up to check everything and only 3 wheels were spinning

Front axle normally has both front wheels turning at same speed. You can only engage on slippery surfaces. If you engage on dry pavement you will get the hopping and all sorts of issues. Unless of course you have been riding with it in 4wd on dry pavement. Then you could have a broken front diff.

Hello, Im thinking if its really that bad, someone in your trucks past swapped your rear axle out for another. Ive done this bc of the gov bomb, if you dont source a correct ratio replacement axle, the wheels will spin at different speeds causing wheel hop(even in a straight line). Check your diffs.

I'll check everything I just put new u joints in the front drive shaft it's been fine for two years then it snowed so I put it in 4wd and it starting doing thanks for the input I'll keep everyone inform with what I find out

Sounds like the DEATH WOBBLES... You might have worn steering components and when you put it in 4WD and power is applied it causes the issue..

I was told it was my pitman arm and idler arm I bought moog products my pitman arm dosent go the whole way to the steering box is this normal
