I don't think the silverado will fit without modification, but the suburban will fit.

All CAPS is considered yelling in forum life. DougD beat me to it.

x2. Find you a rolled or defeated 2001-2002 Suburban. They have a ton of stuff in common with the Avalanche. This is especially true with the 2001-2002 Suburban and the 2002 Avalanche. Everything but the enclosed rear of the truck is the same. Well, save for some cladding, that is.

I got a 2004 suburban axle for my 02 $900

1500 sub and Tahoe will work

they come listed as Traction control or not,

traction controle will have wires coming out of the axle tube ends, for traction control

the other axle has the G80 locking diff

know your gear ratio, my 02 Z-711 was 3.73    very commom but others are out there.

when you get it , have someone hold the yoke still and turn each rotor both fwd and back. the other side will spin opposite. feel for hang ups and slop.... loose rotors in the brakes make noise so don't freak out. do try to get one under 50K mileage. Also avoid one that the rotor vanes are full of mud. bent backing plates.

The only real diferance up to 2006 is the e-brake shoe. Through 2002 they sucked

THANK YOU

1)sorry for starting with all caps.

4)sorry for the late good news ->work work work :E:

Does that go for a 2004 Denali as well? Will anything off of it fit into a 2002 Chevy avalanche 1500 4x4 Z71??

The avalanche is an SUV frame. A rear out of an Escalade should work too. As long as same gear ratio. Just needs to be a rear end out of a half ton GM/Cadillac/GMC SUV. The difference is the SUV chasis uses coil springs. The Silverado (And equivelent in GMC) all use leaf springs.

I needed a new rear end due to hitting a safety hazard drainage system. ($10000 worth of damage) but the kid that replaced mine put a 01 suburban in my 07 avalanche and it is 4 inches too short and the daggone truck won't even jump start now. Please advise

How about for an 03 Chevy avalanche my rear end just went out as well and can't afford new parts

Question need help I have a 2002 chevy avalanche 4x4 .rear differential gave out ..would a 2004 escalade rear differential fit my avalanche..the guy said the gears are the same but want to confirm...thank you .

Is your OEM rear end not rebuildable?

That's the way I have always gone.

But, I've not completely destroyed one of my rear ends and left it in shambles on the side of the road, either.

Rear end should be rebuildable as long as the housing hasn't been damaged. Even better if the gears haven't been damaged.
