Anyone have the problem of just the rear power door locks not working?

Last night and again today, the power door locks on the rear doors, and my tailgate lock stoped working. I have removed and reinstalled the lock and unlock relay, checked the fuses and still nothing. I'm wondering if it may be the BCM not working correctly.

Any ideas? :E:

cut wires......bad ground....when you installed tailgat lock how did you tie into existing system...I would look there first

i assume you tied the tailgate lock into the drivers side rear door. for both rear doors and tailgate to quit operating it would have to be a fuse or relay. can you hear the relays click when you use your fob?

rod.

Rod you are correct, I tied the tailgate to the drivers side rear door.

When I hit the FOB once the drivers door opens, twice, the passenger door opens. No back doors!

Any Idea which fuse it may be?

do the lock / unlock relays click when you use your fob?

on the 03s both the drivers door and front passenger door have a computer in them. the lock/unlock relays are for the rear doors only, so....... if the relays dont click the rear doors/tailgate wont lock/unlock but both front doors will work. i dont have an 03 service manual so i dont know which fuses to check (look on the back of the cover on the left instrument panel fuse block). on the 02s there are 3 fuses....lock, unlock and control.
it may be locking and not unlocking or visa-versa. you will have to listen to the relays while using the fob.

the control voltage may actually be comming from the body control module fuse. on the 03s all rear door control is done by the (the AVs have no rear seat lock/unlock buttons) BCM.

Problem solved. Dealer replaced the BCM

Did the dealer give you any hassles about having the truck modified with the remote tailgate lock kit. Did they suggest this may be the cause of the failure, etc?

The BCM is what sends the signal to the unlock relays according to the manual... so the BC was going to be the prime suspect. I'd be interested in what Spotty asked, did they say anything about your tailgate lock?
