:cautious: ??? Been looking around for those rear sail window covers for some time now.

Can some one help me find those things. Need some web sites or some directions.

Going nuts looking for that thing

I prefer the real glass ones from the snugtop.

PM VLKSWAGEN and he can get you a set from the snugtop supplier.

More expensive.... but a much better fit and product. This is the way to go... IMHO

Sail windows
Which version of panels are those??
Also can you etch the non glass version?
I have been thinking about these for awhile, Lance thanks for posting them, are these the ones of the site?? THey look good against your black Av

These can be etched...actually I just spoke to a woman a few days ago who does etching. I wish I could find someone in the club who also does it. Rather keep the business here.

These are not the glass ones - these are the ones from this site. $99.00 i think I paid for the pair. Just becareful installing...dont over tighten.

I think they look real sharp...im going to remove the decal and have something etched into them. If anyone does this please let me know.

Thanks for the info.. This will probably be my Sept mod, I am spend for August... When I am through it will be about 5 mods this month..

The 1st bullet proof AV lol - very nice!

Hey are the parts under your window done in chrome?????

If so can you post pics and let me know how you did that? Do those black parts come off?

hey you ...av guys

got change still has a few sets of the sail panel plexiglass inserts, that just silicone in from the back side of the sail panel.

I had 50 sets made two years ago, and gave away a big amount of them at the various meets I have been to.

I sold about 15 sets to some of you all,for $30.00 for the pair, including postage.

my...inserts are 1/8 smoked plexiglass, are computer cut to fit in from the back...perfectly.

all you gotta do is tape them in place in a few spots, and then run a small bead of silicone around the edge, and let it dry overnite.

my first set have been in since winter of 2002,and they are a good place for a fan club decal.

the plexiglass shop has the profile on their computer, so if all 10,000 av club guys need a pair, just let me know.

and from that first batch of fifty, I still have 7 sets.

somehow, my club name changed a while back, and more than one picture was posted in the old days, under the name....got_change,along with about 700posts.

mod it ez,or mod it hard,..............but MOD

got change.................old got_change

got change you have mail.. BTW

Look in the Partners section at the top left of the page and also look on ebay as I think this guy has a set on there from time to time.

Lance6902

Those looks really great. :)

Sorry guys but the aluminum thing don't look to hot for me. Looks like it's just stock on from the inside. Dosen't really catch my eyes. Not much of a head turner. Sorry about that, It's just my own opinion. No offense to any one. May be it would look much better if it was on the out side like how Lance6902 got it set up.

For the other one with just plexiglass. I could have done it that way but didn't like the thought of using tape and silicone.

Once again. NO offense to any one out there. This is just me.

Thanks all for the help on locating those Sail Panel Window covers.

I do etch plexiglass. Been doing it on and off for awhile now. I do not color the etching though.. It is your basic etched plexiglass.

I use a Dremel w/ a dimond/carbid bit... I use a photo or schetch on tracing paper and a light board to show through the plexi and just trace the black lines.... on dark plexi.. I use a dry transfer paper same as tatto palors and transfer the lines straight over to the glass and etch away.

Hope this helps for the etching....
