Rear Seat Release Failure

I have been having a hell of a time getting the driver's side rear seat to release so I can open up the back.  I've been trying jumping up and down on it, pulling the release, getting under and trying to release from there.

Is there any known issues or solutions with the seat release?

Thanks

The cable that runs underneath the seat came unattached on mine once not too far back.  It was easy to get back in it's "socket".

There is a little latch that you want to pull. Jumping up and down on the seat will never work. How did you manage to stand up back there to jump anyways? :kidding:

Yep, I've had this happen on mine too.

Me too.. The cable can get pulled out of where it is mounted then it won't release. Luckily you can reach all of it from under neath as long as you don't have an under seat speaker box... May be able to then too.

Just look for the cable and follow it. I think I just pulled on my cable directly to release it then was able to put it back where it belonged. Don't yank it hard. It should release easy.

I can get really short if I need to ;-)  - OK - I was on my knees jumping.

Thanks - I'll check the cable - but as I recall there was some sort of bushing on either the pin or the latch that seemed worn when compared to the other side.

I'll give it some more tugs and see what I can find.

I've been living with seat folded for a long time.  But I had to put some people in the back and put the seat into passenger mode.

I can't get it to unlatch again.

The issue is not the cable - its with the latch that is pulled when you pull the small release at the back of the seat.

The issue is that the part that is supposed to move can't because its hitting the structure around it.

I was looking to see if there is an exploted view but I can't find it.

I can't tell in that diagram where the latch would be - perhaps part of the seat frame?

Anyway - right now its a normal pickup because I can't open the back up!

Lifting up the bottom releases the seat back via the cable shown in yor pic.

I do not know of any lever or release handle thingy..

HOW do you know it is not the CABLE?

99% of issues are with cable.

Post pic of this lever/latch you speak of...

Maybe 2013 different then first gen

Circle around on this - I removed the pin that the latch connects to. This means the seat is not latched down - but I am able to lift it now.
