What is the best glue to use to put this rubber trim back on ? I tried some 3m spray adhesive..but it didnt last long.
Hopfully an easy question.
.

The first year on my 2005 the same thing happened. I used some clear silicone seal along just the top in the rubber groove; pressed up and 15 years later it's still okay.

I attached a picture of it. I wouldnt think silicone seal would hold.. but that's great that it is for you.

I had same issue on my 2003, and now on my 2013. And the 3m spray adhesive did not hold. Will trying else in the spring.

I used a silicone acrylic adhesive about ~35K miles ago and it is holding fine for now. I will see if I can find the brand and post a pix.

That's exactly what happened to me and the silicone has held for 15 years. But it's important to clean both the rubber groove and the seat before. I used alcohol.

16156525183062596054628008540987.jpgfinally got to put in the silicone as suggested.. now I have to wait for it to set. I hope I put enough in there. But the picture above that looks like duct tape.. that's exactly what it was. They must have had a problem at the factory as, I bought this new, and I didnt put it in there. It's like the rubber must not have held, so they stuck some duct tape in there to make it thicker.

I just removed the tape, and the rubber seems to be on there very well. If in the future it falls again, I'll try the gm gasket adhesive. (Thanks ext4me, and Bainman) I am hoping it just stays put.
I wish they had continued to make these trucks, i really love it. (I dont like the feel of thier new trucks) and Even though it's only has 105k on it.. being it's an 04. It has become my work truck so it only gets 2-3k a year on it. It should last a good while longer.
