Rearview Mirror Temp/compass Not Illuminating??

Hello to all,
I'm a new member, and a proud new owner of a '02 Avalanche.

No gripes just yet however, the compass and temperature display on my trucks rearview mirror does not illuminate. Do any of you have any ideas what the problem might be?

Other more sinister possibility. Make ready people, car wash people, or yourself sprayed cleaner directly on the mirror. That's a big no-no as it can get behind, inside and fry the electronics (it's also in the FAQ).

Thanks, I looked at the FAQ already. I also checked the connections behind the mirror, as well as the fuse box.

Guess I'm going to the dealer early Sat. morning...
