Hello All,
I have been talking to my dealer and was told the rebates at this time are :

4000 or 0%
1000 for Chevy loyalty

total 5K

My wife (bless her heart) told me I can trade my 2002 Z-66 for a 2003 Avalanche- Z-71.
I am looking at AV's loaded, Leather, heated seats, assist steps.
All are stickering for around 41 to 42K. I have not seen any higher that 42800.
SO, Twist here is this.
I was at my dealer last night when this older guy drives up in a new Vette. We start chatting- he is getting ready to buy as well.
HE STATED the only reason he is buying is the rebates (combined) are arounf 6200 dollars.
HELP as I found the AV I want, got the payment/price I want but I need the scoop on rebated.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the truth. I know they are ever changing.

NOTE: I live in Cleveland, Ohio so rebates may varie by local?
I just do not know.
Let me know ASAP.

You've about hit them all.

It's $4000 OR 0% 36,48,60 or 1.9% 72 WAC
$1000 owner loyalty Chevy to Chevy trade
$750 GM (Pontiac, Bucik, etc) to Chevy trade
$500 Non GM (though I've heard you have to do the 24 test drive to get this one) to Chevy trade

Dealer hold back is around $1100 or so. (try to get part of this from the dealer is very hard as it's what pays their bills)

I'm looking at a fully loaded 2003 Z66 AV, this is what I was quoted.

List is $39,480
Invoice $35,119
Minus $ 4,000 rebate
$ 1,000 chevy to chevy trade (no not the Vette ;D)
$ 550 half the dealer hold back

Total $29,569 + TTL

I've read of some people doing better, but I haven't seen it all broke down as to how.

Regardless of the rebates, I would wait for the 04 model year. In some ways the 03 Z71s are decontented vehicles from the 02. . . no extra transmission cooler with towing package, no cabin air filter, no underhood light. These are not big issues with everyone, but you should know about them.

The 03 DOES have the Driver Info Center, which although not real useful to me, it looks cool. >:D It also has steering wheel controls, which to me are a MUST-HAVE.

To me, the main reason to wait for the 04s is the brakes. The brakes on 02 and 03 are KAKKA! Model year 04 will incorporate hydroboost brakes which are currently used on the 2500 series.

Loyalty rebate does not require you to trade in a car, neither does Conquest.

Loyalty & Conquest require proof of ownership of the proper vehicle.

The loyalty rebate is $1,000 on same-brand purchase, $750 on cross-line (so if you own a Chevy and buy a Chevy with or without trade, it's $1K. If you own a Chevy and by a Pontiac, it's $750)

Conquest is $500, requires proof you own a non-GM.

These rebates are in addition to the rebate or interest rate offer on the vehicle itself. In most cases of a $3K rebate, if you choose that route instead of the financing, you are looking at $4,500 of rebate money possible.

just came from checking out the '03's at the local dealer. the prices were from 38k to 41k. i thought that was a little high. but, if they are going to include all those rebates that will lower the price quite a bit.
Iamiguana has a good point though. the '04 year might be worth waiting for. i think i will do that. i will wait to see what's in store for '04. ;D

True, better brakes on the '04s. But I think the brakes on my '03 are just fine (heard '02s just suck).

I'd like to point out that in addition with all the rebates making '03s a good deal, that when it comes time to trade in or sell, you'll have an '03 with lower miles than an '03 that was bought back in Aug 2002.

So which do you think has better value... an '03 with lower miles than other '03s, or an '04 with higher miles than other '04s?

Just something to think about.... (y)

There could be other rebates that are not publicized. Sometimes if you are a member of a certain club or organizations you get additional discounts or rebates. I know sometimes the AARP has an additioal $500 to $1000 rebate and I have heard of lots of other organizations having a rebate also. You have to be in these clubs to even know about the rebate. There should?might be a website where you could check to find ALL the rebates available!

If you dont mind an 03 with a few miles on it keep an eye out for a 24hr test drive Avalanche. My Avalanche had been enrolled in the program and had less than 500 miles on it. I purchased it well below invoice and made them included a GM extended warranty at no additional charge. All the incentives and rebates will still apply.

:B:

Not that I did this! But, "a friend of mine" took a 24 hour test drive and used the vehicle quite hard to see what it could do. You may want to think about who has driven the vehicle prior to buying a 24 hr test drive vehicle. Just my .02.

Here is the rebate info on the 04's. $1,000 Cash back or 1.9/2.9/3.9 % APR. Go to the link below for 2004 rebate details.

Thanks for a lot of great ideas adn info.
I am sitting here in that perpetual quandry.
New truck, more mods on the old truck.
I think I am going to wait.
I have talked to a few folks and they all are telling me to keep the 02 and not get an 03, wait till the 04.
I am going to hold for now, install new rims and put an exhaust on.
Those new mods should hold me for a year. Then I can move forward again and maybe just have 2 av's in the garage?
We'll see.
Corsa, here I come...

This is the deal that I got, $5500 total in rebates, added (subtracted) to/from the recently extend GM In The Driveway program pricing (Dealer cost + 4%). On the '03 AV (1500 2wd) this was a tick shy of another $4000.

Made for a great starting price (Before trade value of my 96 Blazer).

New Car sales have got to be killing the used car market. I went in looking for a year old Silverado, came home with a Black 1500 AV 2WD!

I checked with 3 different dealers, and only one was offering all three rebates. The other two acted like I could only get the $4000 rebate.

I bought my AV last saturday 7/26/03
List on the sticker (with so called dealer addons) $38447.00
Sales document itemization shows:
cash price=$34,300
sales tax= $ 1720 (maryland)
rebate GM $4000
Rebate Gm loyalty $750 (traded in GMC Jimmy)
Rebate Convert to GM $750 (arrived in wifes Jeep)
Misc fees: tax, tags, filing etc
Drove away in my new AV after handing them a check from my local bank of: $28,861. (local bank was at 4.9% dealer wanted 5.9)
Pwk

I bought an Av wbh z71 in June 2003.

39500 sticker
33000+ after employee discount(GMS)
-4000 rebate
-1000 addl rebate for MI residents
-500 non-gm at household(conquest rebate)
-250 employee purchase rebate
-2300 gm card rebate

+ 6% sales tax

A little over 27k out the door.

Couldn't pass it up.

In July added factory fender flares and body side moldings.

Don't know if it is an Eastern thing but in New Jersey I also got a $1000 Oldsmobile Loyalty rebate because I own a Silhouette.

I am looking to buy a 2003. Thought I had everything worked out. I am using a buyer through the credit union. The selling price is $38147. It's pretty loaded Z71. Sticker is $42367. Looking at the NADA book shows this to be $1000 over invoice. The credit union guy said it was $500. When I showed him the numbers to dispute, he showed me the "invoice" I found the additional $500. He said the dealer is adding these fees to cover advertisement, rebates and such. I said that's nuits for me to pay them $500 for this. Anyway, they dropped to $100 since. Now it's $900 over invoice.

After taxes and rebates, I am looking at a $36138. Seems high this late in the year. It's pretty close to what I want.

For you folks that have purchased one already, is this a fair price?

Why does the credit union guy care about the details of the selling price so much? He has the invoice? I am confused- I didn't think the credit union would have such information, I thought that was something the dealer would show you.

Anyways, I think that is a little high over the invoice....I payed like $300 over invoice and many people around here can get invoice, though some regions (like California) seem to be picky with this extra advertising fee. Still kinda stupid if you ask me because they get a good profit from the holdback. My advice is this, if you are willing to walk away from the truck then make them an offer of maybe $300 over invoice and see if they will take it. If you are not willing to walk away then take the deal and be happy with an awesome truck!

Corndog Man, sounds like your deal could be better.

We made a deal to buy a SOM Z71 with an MSRP of $40,112 for $35,343, which is supposed to be the GM supplier price. (I am not a GM supplier, nor is anyone in my family.)

After the $4,000 rebate and another $500 conquest rebate we'll pay $30,843, or even less if the rebates go up for this weekend. We'll be picking it up on Saturday.

If it's what you want. I worked a deal that was $550 BELOW invoice. (half the dealer hold back) Fell through though since I haven't been back to work long enough. (laid off last Jan.) If they still have it, I think we're going to try again around Christmas.

Thanks for the replies. I walked away from the deal on the Avalanche. The credit union guy received a copy of the invoice from the dealer. I saw it and questioned the $500 in fees. The dealer nor credit union buyer were willing to disclose what they were. I told the buyer to tell the dealer if he wanted to sell the truck, cut it to invoice and we had a deal. The dealer likes his Avalanch better than me so he can keep it.

Anyway, I have found out from a co-worker I am eligible for a GM Supplier discount, so I have begun efforts to purchase one this way. One way or the other, I am going to get an Avalanche. I may have to go the 04 route, but from the reading on this forum it has better brakes.

This is a great forum by the way. Thanks for everyones input and advise.

Hey corndog...I know it might be too late but I got my '03 2500 AV (~$42K sticker) back near the beginning of July and Power Autogroup was running the $4K Chevy rebate + $6K dealer stock rebate. I basically got $10K off with no other discounts.

My girlfriend just bought a 2003 WBH 1500 in Arrival Blue. She got the $4000 off AND 0% interest for 5 years. Pretty good deal I think.

I still like my black 2500 better, but I bought mine a week earlier and only got the 0% interest. The deal did say "on in stock vehicles" and mine had to be located, so it might not have qualified anyway.
