I just had Speed-o-Tech do the cluster modification to add the transmission gauge - I put in the Escalade's blue face with silver bezel - and had the odometer work performed for the insane price of $245 (at least I hope it was a good deal). They did it in about 30 minutes while I waited (and put in a great XM stereo at the same time for another $300). These guys are great - talk to Sean Fripp (new products manager) at 1.800.442.4491 ext 550 - he was willing to sell the cluster for $220 and ship it anywhere. This shop is in Concord, California (Nor Cal).

Sorry - but $245 to swap the odo was a complete and total rip off. Going prices are $30 to $70 and the install work could be done by you in about 15 minutes with only a Phillips head screwdriver.

I believe he meant that he paid $245 for both, the cluster and the odometer work. If I am correct, that is a pretty good price.

Sounds like this guy is just advertising.
I think the shop would get a better response if the person just came right out and said that they were the owner and that he would be will to give us a discount on whatever it is he sells.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for welcoming me (I assume that something on the left of my screen lets everyone know I am new). I meant the console and the work was performed for $245. The group will reprogam alone for $45 - which was a fair price according to other posts. The cluster was $220 - I could probably have done the work myself but the stereo addition sounded good and the console was going to be apart anyway.

This is one of the best forums around - can't wait for a Nor. Cal. get together in the Sierras - hope people are planning some of this.

No, I'm not with the shop - I am an attorney in the Bay Area - but I thought I would let everyone know about a good deal when I found it. Sean was very knowledgeable and he did the swap and stereo in about 45 minutes with absolutely no hassels whatsoever. When you run into this type of group and good karma it pays to pass it along.

Welcome to the club.

Over on the left, your joined date (6/10/04) and the post count (currently 3) are a dead give-away. >:D

(The lack of an avatar and signature, and the default avatar text of "I love the Chevy Avalanche!" are also clues. You change these by modifying your profile.)

I doubt he is the owner, the name of the company is Speed O Tach
