Redarc elite trailer brake

I have a 2007 LTZ and I just purchased this trailer brake which allows you to locate the control knob separate from the control box. I would like to install it on the center dash next to the radio but don't know if there is room behind it.
Has anyone installed this type of controller or know if there is clear space behind the trim?

Well I tore into the dash and I found that I could mount it there. I just pulled of the decorative trim piece and drilled a small hole, very carefully,  to see if there was anything behind it.
After looking over it carefully I broke out the dremel tool with a flexible shaft and cut an opening for the control knob housing to fit through.
I thought I was golden then I found out there was another piece of plastic that was blocking  the control knob once I hooked in the cable.
Step two of hacking away at plastic to make room for the cord. It doesn't look great but once the decorative trim is back on you don't  see it so hack away.
I cleared room for the cord and then I fished the wire down on the left side and it pops out under the dash. I did need to notch the plastic up underneath the dash to fit the plug end through but you can't see it unless you lay down on the floor and look up.
Control knob is mounted and just need to mount the control box and wire it up.
