I know we did WW2002 and I was wondering if anyone had been thinking about a WW2004??? I had a great time in 02 and would love to go again....some where anyways

I vote for Yellowstone. There has been much talk of a meet at Yellowstone on the Western Region boards for a year now. West Yellowstone has plenty of lodging. Tons to do at the park. If you visit the first or second week after Labor Day you usually have the park to yourself. The weather is usually wonderful then as well. I know this would be quite a trek for the SoCal group but the trip is well worth it. Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful places on Earth in my opinion. Just a thought.

I had so much fun at last years meet I can't wait for this years no matter where it is.

Just had one more idea I will throw in the pot. How about Durango, CO. Again pleanty to do and good lodging. And an equally too long of a trip for both the P.N.W. AV's and the SoCal AV's. But again definitely worth a visit.

Sorry I forgot we added a forum for the regional meet I feel stupit now....yellow stone would be fun

Yellowstone sounds great. We've always wanted to go there. Any opportunity to go cross state/country would be fun.

I like the idea of Yellowstone..........We were going to take it in at last years National but of course we all know what happened........

Yellowstone would be good - Gardnier, Montana makes a better jumping off point than West Yellowstone. Atlhough there is less to do in Garnier proper, you are closer to main areas of Yellowstone.

When I worked for OutdoorPlaces.Com I did a one week stint in Yellowstone, front and back country - lots and lots of places to go and surprisingly easy to get away from the tourists.

Yellowstone is a great place. I'll toss in the Grand Canyon and Yosemite into the mix of possibilities.

Well for the Grand Canyon Idea... how about a base camp in Vegas, might even have some from across the country come to join us... and if they do, I know I got room in my AV since they would not have thier own... >:D

Hey... it was just a thought... everybody loves Vegas >:D

No offense guys and I know Las Vegas is fun, but in July or August you are in for one hot trip. I was there last summer for 4 days and I live in warm country but Vegas was unbearable outside. 106-110 every day...
Just my .02

I think the Grand Canyon would be fun but it was part of last years Western Regional meet. We went to Zion, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Moab. I'm not trying to shoot the idea down but I think it would be better to do something different this year. Just my .02.

but it's a dry heat...

I have done my time in the desert and really am trying to avoid the area during the hot months.

How about Reno instead?

I was there 2 years ago July... 122 for 4 days... >:D

I was there in the summertime during an exercise a couple years ago. Trust me, the flightline is adout 20-30 degress hotter with the jets running ;D. Mike.

I thought I suggested this before but didn't see it on the list so here it goes again........

What about a boarder to boarder run? Canada to Mexico (or the reverse)

A nice cruise the length of I-5. People could join where they are able. They could ride with the cruise for as long as they wanted. Even could encorporate local GTGs for those not able to make the longer cruise but could meet for a couple hours.

Maybe each area could set up the local 'check point' GTG...

pdxkevin: That's not a bad idea at all..

I'll be in Yellostone around the last week in April... Not summertime again...Too crowded.

If the border to border cruise is decided on I will offer my place for a GTG along the way. I have 5 acres of open ground and plenty of room for as many as want to park. I will also furnish the first ice chest of cold ones and a pool to cool off in...

I-5 sounds great. Those of us that don't have a real flexible work schedule should be able to check in and out as the rest of you lucky shmucks enjoy the whole cruise. And talk about exposure!!!

Work in raising money for a charity or donating toys to children's hospitals aling the way... we could get some serious TV News coverage... maybe some freebies from local businesses...

This could be really big, if we tried. Either way it would be a lot of fun!

If we worked it we could try a National version with runs coming from the four corners all meeting at one location... but that is down the road (pun in tended)...

So what do you think? If we went with the I-5 route.. would it be north2south or south2north? or both?

How about the four corners meet in the "four corners" :0: (y). MIkesav.

A border to border cruise would be great! I would deffinatley be interested. And I like Tractman"s Location as a checkpoint.
I could meet up there and cruise south to Mexico, with everybody.

How about a highway 101 or 395 border to border cruise?
