Regular Cab Silverado SS Caught!

That's a pre-production pic. They are making it in the extended cab. (Which is nice) but no go for performance

Jewv is right.....n/a performance...but no stock blower like many would have guessed..... :B:

That's the first time I'm seeing that pic...most of the one's I've seen are of the extended version.....I like the extended version better.....seems like it be more versitile..... :B:

i like the wheels on the truck. however, i do not like the new Silverado, wannabe AV, frontend. the horsepower seems a little weak compared to the comp.

The new Silverado SS is indeed lacking some more punch from the factory...the aftermarker segment is going to have a field day with this one...there shouldn't be any problems making this truck lay the rubber down...after all it's no slouch in stock form....it's got endless potential....it's a chevy... ;D :B:

Yea its time chev gets their head out of their A#$ and give us a true truck from the yesteryears, power and all! :B:

Yeah baby! That's more like it! >:D

Here is the latest news from my reliable sources with regard to the SS.

As it stands, the current form SS is the current production vehicle. They will come out with a short bed, single cab, 6.0 supercharged truck. It will happen for next year. The black SS shortbed single cab that is shown in pictures now has a 6.0 with 400 HP, six speed, a Tahoe suspension (5 link) but it has no A/C bench seat and rubber mats. It's only a concept/prototype truck. GM is not going to sit back an get punched in the eye all day long. Right now Magnuson/Eaton is making a Aftercooled/112 Roots type supercharger for GM, it will sit on top inplace of the cuurent intake manifold. 6 PSI of boost is what the scoop is now. When I get the info I will be more specific

I thought they had with the SSR (maybe not quite a truck - more like an El Camino) and I was ready to buy until I found out it is not going to have the 6.0 L, but the 5.3. 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are not exceptional.

I had been saving articles and buying diecast models in anticipation of getting one, but probably won't now.

I would have like to see the SSR come with a stock blower and the 6.0L powerplant....that would have made it the ultimate hotrod....that would have been nice....we are going to have to sit back and watch things develope....I have faith that GM will hopefully do the right thing for us enthusiasts.... :B:
