Idk who installed this excalibur remote start but I think it's messing with my transmission and was wondering if anybody knew how to take it out or remove it. The remote start wont work it will try to start but then die also my transmission won't go out of second gear now it isn't slipping it's like it's skipping to neutral. Had code for some type of solonoid but I can't remember exactly all started after fuel pump was going out and drove home in second gear. Replaced fuel pump and now no third or OD any suggestions

First off, When did these issues start? If you don't know who installed the remote start, then it was obviously installed before you got the truck. So im assuming the transmission was fine when you bought it. Might be talking about 2 completely different issues here. The remote start will start the truck for a second then stall it? That sounds like the remote start module might need to be reprogrammed. Your transmission not shifting into third might be a shift solenoid or your clutch packs for 3rd and 4th. Same happened to my truck. A little more info is needed though.

Well it all started after I replaced fuel pump. I will drive and when it trys to go into third it just revs and I lose acceleration. I want to remove remote start because isn't working right but yes it was put on before I got the truck. If I unplug battery would it reset transmission too? I'm so confused about all of this lol. I drove home in second when fuel pump was going out due to loss of pressure. Then I got new one installed and tried driving it and wouldn't shift. O'Reillys scanner said solenoid  (something) couldn't remember because I didn't think it was a big deal at the time  :E: oh was I wrong  (n)

Do you have an actual code number? That would be helpful. Also, your remote start issue may be something as simple as a reprogram. No need to remove it for that if you would get use out of it. You might be able to find instructions for that online.

I just saw earlier today instructions on how to test the solenoids. But I really dont think the issues you are having are tied to the remote start.

Actually just saw it was another post by you. My first move would be to test the solenoids by applying the air and measuring resistances. I think all the issues you are having are different issues.

Factory remote starts will not work if you are throwing a code... It is possible that some aftermarket ones do the same thing.

You SHOULD be able to disable the car start by pulling the brain until you figure out what else is going on. If it was an alarm then it may have things like a starter kill that has to be bypassed too.
