So I did some browsing through the other posts, and there were some that came close to what an experiencing but nothing that really got answered for my particular problem. Starting yesterday when I remote start in the morning when I get out to the vehicle the vehicle is running but the remote start has not engaged any of the other functions like the heater, heated seats, radio, or any of the other stuff that it would usually activate, even the dash lights. Has anyone had this issue or have any ideas what it may be? Thanks in advance!

Question are do you have factory remote start or some aftermarket system? has it worked for you in the past? Have you added any aftermarket electrical items such as an alarm system or changed stereo? As far as heat or a/c do you leave the controls on when you shut down vehicle or turn them off?
It also helps to know what year and model AV you have as well.......If you don't have an owners manual have you looked in the Resources section on this site to find a PDF file of your owners manual to see what info it has?

I used to install alarms remote starts. under the dash where they installed your unit there are different color wires. one is 12v, one is key switch and then you have starter wire, so there is a couple of ignition wires, one of them is the main one that power's up all the accoreies and the other one's just power up the motor, it's just on the wrong ignition wire, easy fix. let me know how it goes.

Sorry I should have told you that it's a factory remote start.

Sorry for leaving out some of that info. It's a 2008 LT 138000 with the factory remote start, auto climate, and it has always worked perfectly until a few days ago. No aftermarket accessories. Thanks!

Still the same problem. alarms are alarms. it's just called a factory alarm. the wiring is the same. you just need them to change it to a different ignition wire.

Did some more research, if it worked before and now it's not working now, then something in the brain of the alarm went bad, it happens. ether change the factory alarm or install a viper alarm that has remote start. ether way probably $300 to $400. Hope this helps.

from the HVAC description and operation in the service manual

The remote start system operates in one of three zones of operation:

  • In cold ambient, the system uses 23°C (74°F) setpoint , auto blower, defrost mode, rear defrost and/or heated mirrors on, heated seats on, rear in mimic.
  • In mid ambient, the system uses 23°C (74°F) setpoint, auto blower, auto mode, rear in mimic.
  • In hot ambient, the system uses 23°C (74°F) setpoint (16°C (60°F) setpoint in 200:cool:, auto blower, auto mode, rear in mimic.
