Remote Starters

Boar-Ral got me started thinking about remote starters. Anyone have any experience with these, and what should I be looking at?
Helmet, you prob don't need this feature where you live, but I bet you want one now after reading this posting.

Are you looking for remote start only or remote start with alarm...Remote start with alarm, for a Viper, which is one of the best out there, is about $400 installed...Clifford which is a little better alarm, though now owned by DEI (Same company as Viper) is about $50 more...Remote start only is probably around $150-$200 installed for a good one...just guessing on that price though...

Remote start with alarm would be my choice. These tend to have more features, such as automatic start in cold weather and more sophisticated sensor systems.
I'll research the names you've suggested.

If I'm not mistaken there was something out there regarding remote starts and something to do with the onstar....I think....anyone care to comment...

i had a viper alarm w remote start,kill switch,valet mode,panic alarm, installed for $389.00 at my local circuit city store and after 3 wks of use i am pleased with the product! DENNIS

Hey Chasman... Have u installed a Remote Starter yet?.....if so what brand?. Don't the AV's come with a alarm? I will have to get one when I get my unit. I have one now on my Chevy Astro and just love it. I didn't hook up the cold start feature as I have a garage don't usually plug mine in!
