Just bought a 2010 Avalanche LT and love everything about this ride ... except it has been lifted at least 6' or more. Like the stance of the truck, yet I (6'3") have trouble getting in, and my girl (5'1") said it is damn near impossible for her. So, the lift needs to be removed.
Cannot find one article here on that subject.
Local mechanic sez he can remove the lift, return the vehicle to stock, for $400, plus parts. That seems fair. What parts shall I need? Where to obtain them? Price? Is there value in old, replaced parts?
Also said will need new tires. Currently running around town on 305.55.20 with beautiful rims. What size to downgrade? Shame to lose such a great looking wheel, practically new; do you think a tire shop would trade with me?
Thank you all for considering such an (apparently) unique question!
