Replacing ABS pump motor

ABS light continues to shine. I think I've isolated the issue to an ABS pump motor that runs continuously. I think replacing the pump motor will fix, but I'm wondering if this is a job that can be done without having to crack open the brake lines.

I found a listing on Ebay for an ABS pump motor. It looks like I can pull the two mounting bolts on the brake block and slide out the old motor and replace with the new one. Am I missing something?

Taking one step back here... Did you scan with a code-reader that reads ABS codes? What error code?

bleeding the system might require fancy OBD2 code reader

I did scan the abs codes and it confirmed the abs pump continues to run. Not near the truck now, so can't pull the code up again.

Update - Success!

I was able to change out the ABS motor and the code went away. And I was able to do it without bleeding the brakes.

First I had to remove the two bolts holding the abs motor assembly in the support bracket. The on the outside was easy, but the one on the inside was much more difficult. I used a 6MM hex but I had to cut off all but 1/2 of the head so it would fit in the tight space, then snake my arm up and over the assembly and back it out 1/2 turn at a time (took about 45 minutes). Then I took our the three bolts hold the bracket to the frame (use a lot of penetrating oil first) and removed the bracket. At this point, motor is being held up by the brake lines so you need to support it and work fast. Two bolts hold the motor to assembly. Remove the two bolts, pull the motor out and disconnect. Installation is just the reverse.
