Has anyone else experienced problems with the ambient air temperature sensor/aspirator above the drivers' seat in the headliner? Until two weeks ago, I thought this was the microphone for OnStar but it began making a resonating sound similar to a fan with bearings about to expire. The dealership is investigating it today and will probably replace the module. I did a quick search but found nothing. (It is difficult to search for something like this, since there are several threads concerning cabin noises and not many people know what the part is.) I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? It is not a big issue. After working with computers for many years, I quickly learned that fans will just die after awhile and usually quite noisily. I am just wondering if I am alone with this issue.

It sure sounds like an almost dead fan to me.

I can't say for sure about the Av but I do work at the Silverado plant in Michigan. Several weeks ago the General either got a new vendor or they changed the design of the temp sensor. It even looks diffrent than the old one. ( from the back).

You may want to mention this to your dealer and see what he says. Sometimes the General will replace a part from a vendor simply because of cost or because of a higher than normal failure rate in the field. :B:

Thanks for your input - I'll mention it to the dealership if they contact me. :) It sounds like they will probably just replace it, which is fine by me. Maybe there has been a problem with this vendor and that is why they changed?
