Ok all you Av owners out there...  I'm in negotiations to purchase a 2003 Z66, and I noticed while out on a test drive that the thing goes like a scared rabbit.  BUT, when I'm sitting in Park and try to rev the engine, it doesn't want to rev up.. almost like there's a rev limiter in place... we're talking 3,500-3,800 rpm and it has the throttle feel of a 4 or 6 cyl.  Is this common in Park, or is there a potential problem here?

Also, when an AV comes with a Tow Package, doesn't it usually include a receiver? (The part attached to the frame under the truck)  This one doesn't have one, yet it has the tow button.

Thanks for any input you have

It does have a speed limiter, what you are probably  feeling is the drive by wire feature. The pedal does not control the thottle any longer the computer controls it. Not sure about the tow package

Geez Yak, ya nut ... it's not that I want to rev the crap out of the engine, it just seemed strange, odd-feeling even.? Maybe Michigan has a point there, never driven a vehicle with electronic throttle before... I don't know how to explain it... when you stand on the gas in drive if needing to pass or enter the freeway, it will downshift and possibly rev fairly high before it shifts to the next gear, but when in park, it doesn't want to rev... I dunno, still feels weird.

Anyways, any thoughts on the tow package?

It's a different feeling took me a long time to get adjusted to it. Personally don't like it

The voices in my head are VERY confused!!!  :E:

The TOW BUTTON is on every av...... doesn't mean it has the TOW package!!

According to AvFox's VIN search, it does have the tow package, the harness has been moved and tucked up into a hole in the frame... or what's left of the end of the plug is up in the frame... almost makes me wonder if it has been in an accident.  :E:

Very good point did you have time to look under it for repairs like straightening the frame

.... suspicious!

:E:? I hate admitting I'm wrong... I've looked at so many vehicles in the last two weeks, my head is spinning!? This particular vehicle does NOT have the tow package, and it also revs up fine.? I have it confused with a Trailblazer? :9: that I hade her check into for me.? Thanks for the words of advice, but alas... I'm a dumba**

Now, having said that... could the wiring harness with the round thingy on the end and plastic "cap" be a trailer harness?

Anyone have an idea what the factory running boards will cost (ballpark)?

I guess? my first mod will of course be the ARLs? ?:B:? Second will either be the
Cubbycam or the running boards.? Hmmm... should check the "for sale" section for the Bowtie floor mats.? Also have to remove that gawd-awful trailer ball from the middle of the bumper and get a new plastic cover for it.? So many decisions, so little time (and money).

And last but not least, I guess I need to sign the contract to buy eh?? ?

You folks have been a plethora of information and support, especially AvalancheFox... I look forward to joining the ranks of Full-blown Avy Owner within the next 7 days  :woohoo:

The voices in my head figured that!!  :p

if you hang around here long enough there are member who sell their factory boards.

I traded my chrome steps for the factory ones... and this is the outcome.. Painted steps.
