Reverse Problems?

I back into my driveway (uphill) every day. If I let off the accelerator, the truck will roll rapidly downhill (forward) in the reverse gear. Is this normal? It seems that "reverse" should be geared low enough to hold the vehicle.

I believe this is normal as well...when I throw it in reverse the Av always tends to roll forward a tad bit...I never really thought anything of it......or should I...

I think it is more of a torque converter issue rather than a gearing issue. In other words, both sitting level with the brake applied at a stoplight with the engine idling, and rolling the wrong direction on an incline without the brake applied is all the same to the torque converter. There needs to be some slip off idle, or the engine will stall.

When backing my 1700# trailer up a hill, I have to left-foot-brake to keep the truck from rolling forward, if I need to stop in the process of maneuvering.
