My Z71 has been plaqued by the
float like a butterfly, bounce like a bee, syndrome
while traveling at highway speeds
with the body shifting side to side

I have had the alignment and the shocks checked
I noticed that the yellow bottom out bushing between the front lower control arms and the frame , is in a preloaded condition, on others as well.
therefore when you hit a dip in the road, it pushes up on the frame allowing one side to rise, and thus, changing the alignment

I raised the frame slightly to allow a gap between the control arm and the bushing and with a screwdriver pushed it to one side and easily pryed it out

took a road test and has seemed to make a big difference--- although my problem was most noticable in high winds, it has not been very windy since

If other members have had this problem, this is a simple test to CONFIRM a ride improvement
If you don't think it has improved, I would recommend putting the bushing back, just as easy

If you do heavy off roading, I would not recommend taking the bushing out as it does help the suspension from over compressing
Respond with results

Glad to see that bushing fixed your problem. Good thinking.

However, I am not having the highway ride problems. Do you think it is just on the 1500 series?

How about it, do any of you with 2500 have the same problem?

Irontrain
Not mine- boats suck- I only put the trailers under them
Last boat I had I used three times, and I live on the water and my picture window looks over my mooring
No time to use
Plus now I have an AV--- much more enjoyment!!!!

Boat is a 1959 Mahogany ChrisCraft Inboard

Finaly got the truck out for a long tip on a windy day
bushing removal did not make that much difference
is was a slight improvement empty but when weight is in rear, it still side shifted and swayed

Any others had this problem?
found a cure?
