Has anyone ever seen an off road light bar that could be attached to the roof rack of an AV?

I do a lot of off roading and camping, and having more light in front and to the sides would be nice. I know the idea seems a little Gawdy for the AV, but I was thinking of something removable, to be used for trips only. I would install a jack somewhere on the roof rack for easy disconnect too.

Anyway, just a thought.

The Yakima MegaWarrior is a cargo basket that attaches directly to the roof rack on the Avalanche. You can then purchase Yakima Light Mounting Brackets to mount lights to. I installed my lights this evening but have not wired them yet. That is being done Monday.

I hope this helps. If I see any other similar products or products that are just light bars, I will let you know.

this is an old thread, but wondering how many people would be interested in a light bar that attaches, no drilling required, there is other info that I know, but not posting at this time, 2 of my fellow members here in AZ are working on something like this... just wondering how many would be interested...

If they want to post more info they can, but I am not going to post the info without thier approval...

I would love a light bar that would attach cleanley with out needing any thing else like a roof rack or basket since I don't have either one. I working on a design that looks like the roof rack on the XTerra's, I love there big tube racks. I used to have an XTerra and that was one of the things that atracted me to the truck but it did not have enough power for my taste so, now i have my AV!

I will post pictures when I get the rack done, not sure that will be but it will happen some time in the next few months...

This is another mod I'm going to do soon. The Yakima Light Mounting Brackets hooked up to my Yakima crossbar (or Mega Load Warrior basket). The lights I'm looking at are made by PIAA - http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/2100xt.html

Boar-Ral, do you have any pictures of your set up?

I know this thread is REALLY old, but I ended up finding it using the "search" feature.
I had some time today and found my old CARR lightbar and wanted to see how to make it work for my AV.
It is designed for rain gutters and was too short for my roof width and too long for my factory rails.
I ended up cutting it down and re-notching the slots for an adjustable fit.
It fits great and removes with two 7/16" bolts. I've read about others interested in seeing one so I thought I would share.
The biggest downside is the height, but having a sunroof, everything clears and then some. I mounted one light to see how it would look but I'm not sure if I like it.
Anyway, here are a few pics:
