Rotors?

Drilled and slotted will help you stop better in wet conditions and help air them out when towing on hills. They can also have a little bit more bite, but this is all at the expense of longevity. The slots will chew at the pads and the holes mean there is less metal to wear away before it gets to minimum.

Oem will last longer and work better than budget standard sets. No frills, good performance all around. More of a matter of cost.

Ac delco professional/ performance brakes and rotors are a third option that I think is a compromise between the two but at a price premium. They're bi-directional slotted and coated for rust resistance. They should last longer than a drilled + slotted set but also perform better in less ideal conditions.

All a matter of cost I guess.

You didnt ask about pads, so you might have those picked already. But It's worth noting that pad material makes the biggest difference when dry stopping during normal braking. Ceramic isnt as grippy as semi metallic, but it dusts less and is quieter. Just food for thought. A lot of slotted rotors come with ceramics in their kits and most basics (including oem) use semi metallic.

Brembo brakes that come on sports cars are both slotted and use semi metallic pads. They make a freaking mess and wear out super fast. But man, they stop you on a dime. I never got that half second of reduced braking in the rain that i feel on my trucks (when you hit the brakes and you done 'feel' the vibrations it in your foot for a moment) and that's something I value with the moronic drivers around here.

Longevity is not really a concern for the area I live in here in Pennsylvania, on my old Silverado the salt took care of the rotors long before they wore out. I also have to drive up & down a steep mountain everyday for work so performance is more important plus the way the people drive around here I really want to be able to stop this heavy rig when necessary. I am looking at the Detroit axle package from Amazon, I really want to go with power stop but unfortunately it's just not in the budget.

what do you have?
what year?

Well then you have about the best setup one can get for first gen avy.

Power Stop Z36 Truck & Tow Brake Kits 4-Wheel Brake Kit

Did not purchase here, purchased at AutoZone they had next day at the local store.

I installed this on my 2500. About 1k on it very satisfied with them with two RV trips.
With bedding and brake-in they keep improving.
On my 1500 with up grade I had EBC.

What I like best about these two are I do a lot of Mt towing with no fade.
