On my latest highway trip, around 75 MPH, this material started "Flapping". It became very annoying after the first 30 seconds or so. Has anyone else experienced this? Or have I used up my one shot of winning the Lottery by winning this problem first? If this is a rehash I'm truly sorry, but the damn thing is annoying and would like to fix it before I rip it off the hinge, as I'm sure some engineer at GM worked hard at making sure it was there for something more than annoying drivers.

This is an old problem and beaten to death.....

get ya some glue and glue the rubber to the hinge or live with it.....

Ya can search for it and add to the other threads too....

Are you sure that it was this rubber flap? Do you have a "bug shield" installed? If you do I would bet it it your windshield trim. The black strips along the sides of the windshield flap when you get to interstate speed! There is a fix the includes removing them and putting tape under the strips. Do a search for flapping noise.

Hey Chevydan,

Welcome to the site. There is ssoooooooooooo much info here... it's a full time job sorting through it. ;)

Whatever you do... don't let the flapping noises get you down! ;D ;)

Read this before doing anything about the rubber flaps. LIke Butch said, it's probably the windhsield trim, not the flaps.

Good luck!

Your hinge cover pieces wait until 75 to start flapping up and down!! Mine start at about 55. I haven't done anything about it Haven't even done a search on it either. I guess, I have gotten used to the movement and I ignore it.
I might do what YGMN said and glue them down.

Shapeshifter, great information, That may have been the noise I was hearing in my Suburban, here I thought it was GM's way of letting me know I was doing 75 mph.....lol

Welcome to Fort Apache- an answer for virtually everthing Avalanche. Shapeshifter- ;) nice referral thread post for helpful hints [per your usual]. Or one could adopt my brother's philosophy- just turn up the radio and you don't hear what's botherin' ya. [or please just adopt my brother and send me ShapeShifter as a replacement since he has all the helpful hints and great guides].
