Has any one done this mod on an AV with the painted sail panels? Mines a 2011 with the ext sails etc. there isn't any clips and what not to put the leds into.

If you are brave you could drill holes for them.

Good my motto is Have Drill and I'm not afraid to use it, but even I would not do that just for sail panel lights.

I've always wondered if you could use the single smd dots and slip them through the seam
They appear to have a flat wire and are weatherproof

For those with EXT type cladding maybe something like the old Southern Comfort light strips would work without drilling? Here is a strip that may work instead of trying for individual lights :

I have black sail panels with light bars if you're interested in purchasing a pair.

I think I did a write-up when I did my 05 back in 04. I used the led bolts for license plates with hela coils to add a little girth. I then connected the wires to the third break. Making them act as extra brake lights.
