Hey all,
FINALLY got off the fence and got the order in on my new AV!!! ?
?
?
Had to work out some details on a decent trade for my '69 VW Bug before I could make the deal. I know, not the best to be trading a classic car like that, but I'm having a bear of a time selling it and need a larger vehicle for soon-to-be-expanding family.
On that note let me take this space to sincerely thank and recommend Tedford Chevrolet (and Randal Shinn) in Farmersville, TX (east of McKinney on 380) to anyone in the north DFW area. They were second to none in their effort to find a buyer for my Bug so that they could offer a reasonable trade in on it. In addition to that, they said to go ahead and try to sell it anyway, and if I found a buyer who would beat their price to bring them by the dealership and they'd process the paperwork to make it look like a trade-in and sale to the buyer for the new sales price, FOR FREE!
The AV was ordered 11/5 on GMO so I won't have it till Santa drops it off late in December but I'm already getting the mod jitters and will surely have a pair of Amber bulbs in my pocket on pick-up day.
Since I don't have pics for ya yet, here's the details...
1500 Z-71
Arrival Blue Metallic/Dark Charcoal
3.73 Rear Axle (couldn't justify the 4.10s)
Leather 8-way Buckets with warmers
Bose 6-Disc Changer
Driver Convenience Package
Trailering Package
Accessories Direct (Thanks SJProwler!) Polished Stainless Assist Steps ($235 vs stock $585)
Molded Hood Protector (TX Bug Deflector)
Molded Splash Guards (will be snap connected to prevent rip-off)
2nd Row Seat Liner (save seats from cargo and dog)
And soon as it gets here I'm having the dealer run it by Discount Tire to put on a set of GoodYear Wrangler MT/R 285/70R17s and possibly a new set of rims too (leaning toward ARC Teron 17" but taking suggestions still). So if anyone needs a full size Z-71 spare just say the word as I'll have 3 or 4 available very soon.
Also, did anyone ever start that "What to check at the dealer before you pickup your new AV" thread yet? (Check Parking Brake is adjusted properly, etc.) That list will be really useful to me soon.
