Sorry guys, but without reading all the posts on the camping deal...is there a chance we can camp on the beach? I think I remember something about a beach party ???

I've asked that question before and the answer is no....you cannot camp on the beach. We will be staying close to the beach....I believe there is a campsite very close.

Hey Kim....Thanks for your assistance. (y)

I'll be meeting this afternoon with the group sales manager for
OCEAN PLAZA Beach Resort to review details and determine if
Ocean Plaza services equal a cost value for our members.

More details will follow. They have a site like other hotels for
information, but getting to know the hotel ownership prior to
selecting a hotel will benefit our group. ( "Wiki" and "planetav" (y)
will attest the ECRM host hotel was very helpful as needed. )

Hey folks....Ocean Plaza ownership wants our AV business and will E-mail
firm group rates for ocean front and west side rooms Thursday.

MIKE

Well it will be me any my wife in a hotel somewhere. I'll be interested to see the 'Ocean Plaza' that Tinman's getting us a quote for. We want to stay close to the action, as I recall, Savannah is a little way's down the road from Tybee Island, so my dreams of the Heavenly Bed at the Westin may be out :C:

Hey Kim,
I just got back from a business trip out to Savannah, so of course I had to scope out Tybee Island and I wanted to get a look at the River's end campground. I hope some of this information helps out.

The campground I believe is the only campground that is actually located on Tybee Island, it is your basic campground no frills, lots are pretty close together. It did have some nice shady spaces though and I saw a few tents as well. Even though the lots were close together the campground is only a few blocks from the beach, so probably not a lot of time is spent in the campground itself. I got some basic info while I was there such as they do have cabins available for 49-59 per night plus tax and depending on size, I didn't check out the cabins so I have no additional info on them. What they call a "primitive" tent sites runs 27 a night based on 2 people, 1 tent and 1 vehicle. The campground is conveniently located to just about everything, and just right up the road from the Crab Shack (what's up with the cats) that was my first time there.

Hope that helps. So for right now put me down and +3 for camping, unless Tinman gets a group rate at the hotel that is too good to pass up. ;D

Nick....please PM your travel schedule to/from Savannah. May find something interesting for you to do. ;)

MIKE

Please put us down for Hotel.
With Jenn being pregnant (7 months at that time), we will need a room.
2 adults, 1 child (2.5 yrs old).

We would like an ocean front room with 2 queen beds if available.
But I can reserve that once Mike hammers out the details.
Thanks for your hard work everybody
We appreciate it.
