I was driving down I-205 in Portland, OR yesterday and came upon a strange sight. Here, in front of me, was a Black (I think) 2500 Avalanche that was covered with grime and mud. It had a January license plate and doubtless had never, ever been washed.

Three bales of hay were in the bed. The tail gate had been removed, so I could see that the remainder of the bed's contents were a high lift jack, a dented old gas can and a piece of logging chain. The rubber mat had been replaced by a properly-aged hunk of plywood.

This rig will never see Zaino and was the total opposite of a yuppie's driveway truck.

Gad, I had to love it. A truly honest Avalanche farm truck. :B:

Was it pressure treated plywood? Fir or spruce? Was it painted, or mill? What kind of hay did he carry? Was it round or square bales? How did the truck sit with the hay on it?

I guess you know what kind of AV owner I am!

That's awesome! ;D

Gotta love a guy who uses his truck as a truck. I'm not nearly that hardcore, although this is my idea of washing my Av...

Hey watch it buddy! You're being stalked by a Ford. Probably get stuck before it catches you anyway. Even with his four feet of lift.

Makes me wish for November to come.

The Red Warrior will be in NE Montana with either five hundred pounds of Garfield County gumbo or a load of snow and ice on/under its body.

Karen and I will kill four mule deer on the hunt, so their bodies in the bed will complete the picture. ;D

I try to keep my rig nice most of the year, but under cowboy conditions you just have to let it slide.
