Hope I don't get scolded by goo929 here, but I searched and searched and I think this has only been touched upon...

Well, how do you like 'em? I'm specifically intersted in what people think of their sport leather (leather w/cloth insert), quality, how they're holding up, cleaning, etc. I'm fairly familiar with the full leather in GM's other offerings as I stated in the other post that didn't get much response.

Wouldn't mind opinions from those with cloth, either.

Thanks!

"Sport" leather here (Graphite to be exact). At first I kinda thought the faux diamond plate look was a little hokey, but I am ok with it now. Seems to be holding up fine, my first choice was full leather but this was how it came. On the bright side, no searing hot leather seat burn when getting back in the Av shirtless after the Av has sat in the sun at the beach. And heated seats not nearly as critical a need with the cloth inserts.

I would think that the bench is the only way to go in an Av. When you fold down the midgate, your left with only 3 seats. Buckets would be two. With the bench arm rest, it acts like a bucket anyway. Also, a bench is more comfortable on a long ride because it allows you to reposition your arse. I've owned both in cloth and leather and the most comfortable seats are the benches in my trucks, with cloth. That is what I am getting.

I have bench seats and I must say they are very comfortable. On the other Hand my TA has leather buckets and there is something to say about being held in place when trying to achieve the 1g corner >:D

I have the cloth buckets and would not consider the bench. I like the buckets. The ability to seat one more person was not an issue.

Cloth buckets here. I had to search hard to find them too. The only thing I liked about the leather was the seat memory.

Cloth bench here - very comfortable. My only complaint about driver seating comfort is the lack of a dead pedal on which to rest the left foot. With the seat adjusted for my height, my left foot either hangs in space if stretched out or I can bend my knee and place my foot on the floor directly in front of the seat. Smaller vehicles seem to have a natural dead pedal built into the shape of the floorboard - not so with the roomy Av.

BUT - before starting a dead pedal discussion here - check the archives . . . yep, been discussed before!

;D Hey, Flynhigh... What year T/A ???

I love the electric side bolsters. I'm slim and have 'em cranked in ALL the way!!!

>:D ... only thing that keeps me from flyin' out of the car with the window down and the T's off... LMAO >:D

Hey AVY,

My TA is a 2000. Guess what color..... Yep Black! I must really love washing vehicles on my days off :cautious:

I agree about the bolsters, but I am not thin, nor fat, just something or other ???

That's really cool, Flynhigh! 2 Black vehicles...

I got my T/A a few months ago with 8400 miles. The guy had to have a Vette...

AVYNUT!

I know how you feel about the T/A seats! I have an old Camaro, but I put seats in it out of a '98 T/A... ;D

The cloth bench in my Av suits me perfectly... no fatigue on long road trips at all.

WHOA, Crexis!

What, on earth, happened to that '98 T/A ???

I have a guess... ?

Cloth bench here as well. The jump seat in the middle was perfect for the kid. Like to have the extra space for running with the midgate down.
Find them much more 'bucket like' than other seats. They are quite well formed. I had the 40/20/40 in my last truck as well. Like these much more.

Full leather heated buckets in graphite...sister in law has the same exterior (pewter) but the taupe (men should not have to say that...how 'bout, hmmmm TAN?) in the sport leather/cloth mix...it looks cool and the contrasting tones (oh my gawd, I need help...turn on crank and chrome or sumthin) look great too...Bottom line (now I'm back...) You can't go wrong...unless you miss out! :B:

LMAO! Very Funny! ;D "Not funny 'ha ha', funny queer"...oops that belongs over in fav movie quotes.

Just kidding around...thanks for the info on the seats silversport and others. I'm getting the impression that, regardless of which type one prefers, there don't seem to be too many quality issues as of yet. Good to hear.

Have cloth buckets, and love them. Really wanted leather, but at the time just not in the budget. Mine was the first I had seen with the fully cloth buckets, most were either full leather or sport leather(which I would have bought if I could have found). In the end though, very happy with the cloth buckets.

As for the side TA discussion.........Still have my 79 TA in storage. Hoping to do a little restore in a few years when I hit my mid-life crisis.

My first TA was a 79 ;D

I turned it in to a 10 sec 1/4 mile car and then sold it after I torched the 3 transimssion in it. Drag racing is hard to fund while in college :cautious:

Bench cloth here. And it was hard to find since everything locally seemed to be bucket seats! 6-seat capacity was a must, and of course there are no leather bench seats.

The bench seats have been suprisingly comfy, even on long drives. I think the arm rest could be a little more soft and forgiving, but it isn't too bad. Only problem I have is with the armrest down, it is near impossible to reach down and grab a drink in the cup holder.

Avynut... I don't know what happened to the 98 T/A...I bought the seats from a friend of mine who had gotten them from a salvage yard... probably wrecked. also means no, I didn't get the LS1 out of it

While I'd love to put an LS1 in the old car, don't have the money, time, or knowledge to deal with the electronics... and the car has a pretty strong "old school" small block in it... plenty of power to put a smile on my face... although the Av gets BETTER gas mileage!

Full leather here...

I love it.. the butt warmers, the adjustability, the memory settings (for when my 5'7" g/f asks for the keys)

I'm looking for some good cleaners and conditioners now though - I wanna keep the good looks and durability going... (Lexol?)

I am happy with the NFE leather seats. For cleaning and conditioning, Lexol products have been recommended by many makers and sellers of motorcycle leathers. I have talked to some folks at upholstery shops that swear by it as well. I have also used the Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner with good results.

Graphite cloth buckets here. I'm very impressed with the comnfort in the Av. Buckets are big and fit well.

Full leather buckets, and to tell you the truth, I hate the seats. They are so uncomfortable that I almost didn't buy the vehicle. After a few test drives I found that keeping the arm rest stowed was slightly better, but that really seems to dig into my side now and then on hour + trips. Of course, I am a large man of 6' 7" and 295#. I have a friend in the upholstry business that is going to see what he can do for me after a 6 month break-in period. I'm just wondering..... how big a vehicle do I have to buy before I find seats that fit me? :cautious:

Kr00g

You could try one of those new stretched $300K+ Mecerdes' with the recliners in the back...you'd have to find a driver, though, and I don't know how well they do off-road ;D

Well, I'm getting the responses that I thought I might: that seats are subject to individual preference. Not too many complaints quality-wise though, and that is good to hear. Thanks so much for all of your responses to date and any for any other future issues that may be reported.
