service 4wd light

4x4 was working good with no problems at all. i removed the t case and trans to replace the rear main seal and after i reinstalled everything back i went for a test drive and everything was fine.. about 15 mins later all my lights and cluster just turned off and started to flicker on then thats when my 4x4 service light came on and i lost 4x4... i checked all grounds and wires but everything seems fine so my question is if i replace the 4x4 motor sensor do i have to reprogram the new one or is it a plug and play?

Not sure but I just had this happen minus the lights and cluster turning off. I’ve checked the grounds and the dash switch. If I start in neutral it’ll shift the transfer case through all gears 2, 4hi, 4lo, and back to 2. Once I put it in drive or reverse the service 4wd light comes on.
