Mine does not shift. However, it is very uncomfortable and without an orthopedic device, is quite painful.

Mine shifts slightly. Planning to check bolts to see if loose. Just noticed within last 1000 miles. Total miles 35,000.

That is exactly what happens to me. The dealer has checked twice and says it is bolted and torqued to factory specs.

It almost feels like the base alone shifts from the rear right corner???? My observation!

I sometimes feel just a slight little movement when starting from a stop or hitting the brakes. In my case, it doesn't feel like the whole seat moves, just the backrest. It's as if there is just the slightest amount of play in the reclining latch.

What seats do you who it feels like it is moving a bit have?

Maybe it is slack in the motorized mechanizm thingys? ???

I had some old crappy cars where the seat bolts tight but the frame underneath had slop in it

A very good question, why didn't I think of that! D'oh!

Anybody who has felt anything, post the details of your seats, and let's see if we can find a pattern.

I have the '02 cloth buckets, and it feels like it might be in the manual recline mechanism.

good question. not sure if it is the right base or recline pivot point. but, it is definitely in one of those areas.

I have the cloth buckets and it seems like the little movement comes from the left side of the seat moving back. It "MAY" be in the power slide rail

I don't notice any movement in my seat of my 03 AV and didn't see any in the 02 AV that I had before, But I had some in the 97 Silverado before my AV's.

If all of the mounting bolts are tight, any movement in the seats is likely to come from the recliner mechanism first, then from the adjusters be they manual or power.

The recliners have more tolerance built into them due to the fact they pivot on bushings, which are typically plastic. Power adjusters will be more prone to movement than manual because they are more complicated and have more pivot points.

It will all boil down to the luck of the draw. If you happen to get a seat that was built with components that are at the outer limits of the design specifications, it will have some slop in it. Based on my experience building OEM seats for the past 17 years, this only happens very occasionally.

I had shifting seats on my suburban. It is the slop in the recline worm gear that causes this problem... I am assuming that GM hasn't improved this mechanism and is using the same thing in the AV. My dealership changed both the drivers and the passengers in the burb. So far...sooo good with my av.
