SHOCK ABSORBERS GOOD BETTER BEST

What is the intended purpose for the truck? Are you cruising on the highway, going off road, doing a lot of towing? What are you looking to improve?

What ever you do, dont go bottom barrel. Look for things with a good warranty. Lifetime is pretty standard for the better brands, at least until you get to some gucci high performance stuff that's expected to get beat up.

wHAT YEAR MODEL ETC?

I was so happy with the Z71 (2005) yellow Bilsteins, that I just put a new set on after 16 years. :>)

As asked above, it helps people to answer you if they know what year and model AV you have and does it have stock setup or upgraded Z66, Z71 or LTZ suspension already......
Many shocks are tuned to match the spring rate so if you change shocks and they are far off from stock you may have to change springs as well for best results.

Same here, after 15 years it was time to replace the yellow Bilsteins on my Z71, rides like brand new again. Very happy with their performance.

Stick with OEM as Z66 has special shocks and springs in the rear

They do not have the special NIVOMAT rear shock that pumps itself up to raise rear end under load.

I have a thread in this section on who makes the rear shock and prices as I did it last year I think.

Is this not the NIVOMAT replacement from Arnott? It looks like it has the electronic connection plus the air line

AS-2700 - Arnott New Passive Rear Air Shock
This air-assisted shock replacement is new and not remanufactured. Internal shock damping is not electronic and includes a bypass sensor to turn off any warning lights.

AS-2708 - Arnott Remanufactured OE Electronic Air Shock
This remanufactured air-assisted electronic shock provides OE electronic damping and air leveling is the same as the original.
