I'm not ready to lowerer my 04 WBH yet, but when I do which I am planning on doing, should I remove the fender flares?  I'm looking at maybe a 2/4 or 3/4 drop.  I think all the AVs WBH that I have seen lowered don't have the fender flares.  It seems to me like it'll look funny with the flares being that they stick out further than the wheels and the lower it is the more this is noticeable.

Does anyone have pics of their lowered AVs WBH that they can share?  Either with the Fender flares or without.

mine's not lowered enough to give you an idea but you can always take the flares off after you've lowered it if you don't like the look.

i'd remove my flares but they have already wrecked the paint enough that it would have to be touched up underneath.

Someone else told me that they thought they paint maybe messed up underneath.  I had a 03 silverado that had flares on it and I took them off and it only left a small line showing where the flares were.  After a little wax and buffing you could hardly tell where the line was.  But yeah I guess you're right about removing them after I have it lowered in case I don't like it.  I guess this is kind of a stupid question. :beating:

I did the same thing with a Silverado after breaking two of the flares hitting things, it was victory red and left small lines around one fender.
Since your truck is white, i see no problem at all.
I've already pulled my flares back enough to see that paint will be needed.

Hey biggie

Pics of my lowered Summit White 2004 in the Ram Air/Cowl Hood thread, both with and without the fender flares and door guards. I was hesitant about removing mine also. I like the look without better.... Paint will be fine..I took all 8 pieces off in about an hour...

Good Luck..

Hey!? ?Thats Bluedevils Av up there!!? ?

I say.... remove them!? >:D? ? ? ?Flares and door guards off= cleaner look

Wheels will be flush with the fenders >:D

I think, flares would look good if the Av was lifted with big 'ole tires.?

This is a 2/3 drop.? 285/50/20
I think 305 tires will look meaner also.

they do look nice but its like looking at a silverado (no offense)... the avalanche is suppose to be different but to each its own i guess...

Mine is dropped with the flares. (supposed tobe a 2/3 after settling and wear it actually sits a bit lower now) I love the flares on the truck. It makes it look abit "beefier" I think they just look a little to naked without them. This is sitting on a set of 24's with a 315/35/24 tire. Sits nice, rides nice, very very little rubbing. All of the rubbing occurs inside the fender and doesn't touch the flares at all. Truck has been like this for over a year now and no issues. I say keep the flares!

I'm in the same boat.  I am wanting to do a 3/5 drop and I have the painted fender flares.  I like the look of them without, so if I took mine off, would the little "crease" be underneath as seen in BD's Av?  I really like that look.  Here's a picture of mine, as from autotrader.  Delivery is this Friday, but I can't start playing with it until leave.  At least it gives me time to plan out my mods!
