Side Mirrors

I saw some different side mirrors on a Chevy 3500 dually, crew cab pickup the other day that I have never seen before on any Chevy truck. It was a periscoping mirror that moved in and out on two parallel bars (similar to the Ford mirrors on their Super Duty's). They were really cool and would be perfect on the Avalanche.
I'm sorry, but the side mirrors on the Avalanche and Silverado pickups stink!! The Avalanche ( as all of you know) have terrible blind spots.

Anyone know if Chevy offers these for installation on the Avalanches??

Yup - this is the high visibility mirror option offered by the General on the Avalanche. I don't know if you can get it dealer installed but it is available through the factory - exactly as you described...

Nice option, a little tough on folks waiting for the bus at an intersection and real hassle for folks with narrow garage doors. ;D

But what I really want is the power tilt, telescope, and fold version of this mirror!

C'mon Chevy - throw us mod crazy Av enthusiasts a bone or two!

Just so I'm on the right sheet of music...are we referring to the trailor tow mirrors? Or is there another style of mirror being discussed here.... :2:

the two-tube telescoping mirror is the tow mirror yuo are thinking of, as others have pointed out it is an available option, meaning you can charm the part# off of your local chevy pal and probably diy on your Avy post delivery.

as for the power fold, etc mirrors that other high end Chevy vehicles get now, the thread that mentions the option packages for '03 indicated that such wil be an available option nxt year.

(y)I got this info from my Dealership
-Optional new power-folding exterior Rearview Mirrors with trun signals
-Optional Camper mirrors with turn sigal and power extension
Looks like they have addressed the mirror issue I am still waiting for Pic'c on the 2003, I also found out that Yellow will be added as a new color and the blue will be lighter! ;D
I am still holding out for a 2003 but I dont know if I can last much longer, my wife has told me to stop talking trucks to her or she will leave me....so I gotta go find her and tell her bout the new colors >:D
