How about some mini rotating disco balls or purple strobes.

NJAV,

Never thought of the puddle lights! On my Blue z66 this would look cool. The incandescents almost make the doors look dirty all of the time (even when they're not) because of the way the clear coat reflects the light at night.

With blue or purple bulbs this might change!

Maybe I'll see you driving around. I'm in South Jersey...

I have actually looked for purple bulbs for different locations inside the truck. The puddle lights would not have any show value unless you could keep them always on. I have to check to see if they timeout if you have your door open for so long ... hmm.

I do have a purple scanner on order to add to a new security system I am doing today.

Thanks for the ideas ;D

Ggates...where in S. Jersey are you...I may have passed you on the road already and not even known it....been in Toms River a lot over the past few weekends....

The reason why I asked about this is because since my Av is white, I was thinking about replacing the stocks out with red and blue....kind of a patriotic thing going ya know... ;D

I'm on the other side near Cherry Hill...right near Philadelphia...I like the Red and Blue idea, then its just a matter of coming up with a puddle light manual button to turn them on whenever.

Easy enough to do. Hey-that's a good job for the 4-pod "AUX" switch.

I remember driving on the turnpike and seeing the huge water tower off to my left with Cherry Hill printed on it....

Those were the days....driving home from NC on weekends... ;D ;D ;)

Can the bulbs be gone over with permanent markers like a blaisdell liquid tip ? They come in basic colors.

I wouldn't recommend that Steel. Does anyone know what size bulb is used for the puddle lights?

Stylinconcepts.com has some cool colored ones ;D

I believe they are 211-2, identical to the dome light. I have tried a bunch of these, and unfortunately most will put out far less light then stock. Most of the autozone stuff is crap, so look for reviews online. I cant remember which ones I have but will try to post more info as I can find it.

I just bought these blue gel sleeves that fit right over the bulbs and they worked out pretty well. I think it was a under $3 mod

I have been trying for the longest to see if I can tie these puddle lights in with the signal lights, never got any replies.

Pain? All you need is a flathead and a philips, pop the puddle light housing out, pull the connectors unscrew the covering and pull out the bulb. Pretty simple really. I will post step by step pics later on today

Pop out housing with flathead.
17529651.jpg

Unplug the connectors.
17529649.jpg

Unscrew the two(2) screws.
17529646.jpg

Separate housing and lightbulb.
17529669.jpg

Remove bulb and slip sleeve over buld~or~change with colored bulb.
17529656.jpg

Reverse everything you did and pop housing back into mirror until you hear a *CLICK*
