I've got two 2500 Av's to choose from:

1.) Silver Birch, charcoal leather, stainless steps, sun-roof.

2.) Dark Blue Metallic, charcoal leather, composite steps, DVD player, no-roof.

What the heck do I do???

Silver Birch is much easier to keep clean.
Other than that it's a toss up.
I believe the stainless steps cost more than the composites.
DVD Player and Sun Roof are probably about the same cost to install after market (maybe a little more for the DVD player)
It's a personal choice on color if you ask me for my .02.

I had a new "pewter" Suburban in 1999. Kind of sick of that color...it seems to be everywhere.

The Silver Birch appears waaay better than the old GM "pewter"

The metallic Blue is pretty sweet......though.

frig! I'm not helping myself am I?

Mattie

2.) Dark Blue Metallic... no-roof.

I'd get the convertible one for sure :p ;D

Seriously, I'd pick the Silver one as after owning and trying to maintain a car with dark paint I swore I'd never do it again. Note: I keep vehicles a long time, so this may not matter to you.

Go for #2!!!! I love that color. IMO, sunroofs stink. Does anyone want mine cheap? ;D BTW, Rich, love the new avatar >:D

Summit White! Oh sorry, that was not a choice. I have to go with the Silver Birch. Imagine what the blue would look like in those Canadian snow storms. It would look Silver Birch like.

Anyone, how would you compare Silver Birch to Pewter?

I bought a 2004 Silver Birch in February. I must admit, it was not my first choice in color but I got such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. After more than three months of ownership, I haven't had to wash it yet. Just use a magic duster once a week and it's good to go. It does look good with the cladding and as the name implies, has more of a silver cast versus the aforementioned pewter. I really like it!

#2 then add a moon roof. I like the blue and having a moon roof makes you cool. >:D

Silver Birch is lighter. LPM is discontinued. Silver Birch looks more like BMW/Volvo silver if you've ever seen those. LPM kind of has some tan in it that comes out in certain lights (at least to my eyes).

Is that the kind of info you're seeking ???

I was really debating color when I got mine last year. For me, it was down to Silver birch (which didn't come out until 2004) and Yellow (which wouldn't be available after 2003). Since I couldn't wait for the 2004's, yellow it was! But I always do a double-take on SB's I see...

i am surprised you found two 2500's to choose from. i like the Silver Birch's stainless steps, leather and sunroof. but, i also like the DBM's leather and DVD player. it would be a toss up for me. a while back i would not have even given the sunroof a consideration. now that i have one i have to say it is cool. with an option like that in front of me i would go with...
i would see if the dealer was interested in swapping the steps if i were going to buy. i think the "cladded" steps are hideous. just my opinion. i sold the ones that came on my first AV. if you want the sunroof maybe they can get you a DVD system that will work with it.

Lets see, my trucks have been blue, gray, blue, LPM,.....I guess BLUE is next ;)
ps; I have a blue and a pewter trucks right now

I have the Silver Birch and I get a lot of compliments on the color. It's also really easy to keep clean, or at least looking that way!

I was in a similar situation to yours. It wasn't my first choice of color (green was), but the deal could not be passed up. It was on the lot for 3 months and it was a new salesman and manager.

It came with a sunroof which I could take or leave. As far as the DVD system, do you have kids who will ride with you on long trips often? If not, what good is a DVD system? Anybody?

Hey Punisher,

I guess I'm inclined to go blue, you're right though...those composite boards are brutal.

I'm hoping I can swap for stainless.....then add the GM chrome push bar on the front to match.

On your first AV, you sold the cladded steps and replaced them with factory stainless or aftermarket?

Two kids, 3 & 5 - DVD would be good for them.

Sun-roof isn't really necessary, since I'm Scottish & I burn easy.

besides, I think the Silver Birch is too close to the 99 Pewter Burbin' I had. Just plain tired of it.
