Sirius or XM in Canada????

I don't see why not. I guess the satellites are similar to DirecTV - which works in Canada.

 ... Not any more :6:..Not sure about the sirius or xm .. will try to find out next week at work .. But my guess is that the signal somehow sneaks it was across the line in the falls!!!! (y)somewhat like my wish for chopsticks with my name to find there way across.... :D :D >:D

I don't have XM, but a friend of mine does. He lives a little further North than me (about 10 miles from the Falls) and he has not complained about coverage. Since the GTG is only about half a mile past the border, I can't imagine that the satellites have such fine control that they would work on one side of the border and not the other.

As long as the XM receiver is registered in the states, and is that close to the states, I would assume it would work. There may be coverage issues farther North, but I would be very surprised if they don't work in the Falls.

Maybe you want to bring some CDs along, just in case? >:D

They'll work ok, XM's are geostationary like the TV sat's are. Sirius does figure 8's over the Americas; at least two of the three are supposed to be in view at any given time OVER THE 48 STATES (aka"CONUS"). Dropouts will increase and extend longer depending on how far north you are; both should work for 90% of Canada's population, Sirius, likely a bit better far north. This is when and if the legal/contract stuff is finished!

I have a bigger - better - faster - stronger image, but it won't fit here and I can't find the old link..

Never tried one in the new HU to date..

Now I have a SkyFi at home; hadn't played a CD there since!

Does anyone know if Sirius or XM will work in the Falls Area?
Here is the official reply froms Sirius CS:
Dear Bob,
Thank you for contacting SIRIUS regarding service in Canada. We can not guarantee service because our current FCC license does not allow for broadcast outside of that area or in other countries, but you should be able to receive SIRIUS signals in the Toronto area."
