I have some friends who own a stereo shop in Norman, OK. They are running a deal to only pay installation and get Sirius. Sirius pays for the equipment and you just start the payments like $13 or $14 a month. For those of you travelers, this might be nice. If anyone is interested let me know.

Putting it in next week. and my mistake it is $12.95 a month. Also, if you put it in another vehicle it is only $6 a month. Plus, they said within the next 18 months, they will have about 5 channels of video on the same antenna. You may need a new receiver but it would be cool for those long trips. Like a news channel, sports channel, some type of Disney, and a cartoon will be the first ones out. Anyway, it goes in next week and I can't wait.

Okay, I got it in today and I think it is gonna be really cool. The antenna is super small. You can't see it unless you climb up on the truck. From the ground it is hard to see.............

Is this deal only for Avs? My wife drives a Buick Regal but drives all over Eastern OK. How much was installation for you? Norman is far for us but if this is a good deal we could do it.

No, it is a plug N' play receiver that can be used in any car. Works through the factory deck. Now, if Norman is a bit far for you, check some local stereo shops and see who installs Sirius. Sirius is paying for this piece of equipment and the shop gets the install money. So, if there is one in your area, you may save lots of gas money. Check out Sirius website to see if you can find a dealer by zip code or something. If not, I can get you in contact with them.

Ok...I thought this was a special deal through that shop. How is the sound through your own system? Doesn't seem like it would be much to install!

I got Sirius but had to replace my in dash head unit. I LOVE it. If y'all can get it for installation only, I say JUMP ON IT. With my new head unit, and the antennae, plus installation and a service plan (the Satellite Tuner was free through Sirius) plus one year of service it cost approx $550. But I love it.

Sound is pretty nice. Better than the FM stations but it would be better if I had it interfaced into the factory deck or had a Sirius Ready deck. But, I am pleased. Installation isn't a huge process, the antenna is just held on with some Super Stick tape. So, no holes drilled. That $100.00 covers everything and Sirius just bills my credit card monthly, no billing statements or checks to write each month. Plus, once it is set up, you can get a password to log on and listen over the internet. It would be in your car and on the computer for 1 price. Cool, huh?

i have the same set up in my avalanche, but mine is the older one.

can your unit fit the entire song on the display and can you browse other stations while you still listen to the one you are tuned to.

this is a pic of mine.

Good questions, The song title scrolls I think. Not sure about browsing though, I haven't played with it that much. I doubt it, though, this is more of an entry level piece. Not too many bells and whistles. I looked at the Kenwood you have. I like it and wanted to do the same thing you did with that flush mount. But, in the end, I think I will be upgrading head units soon and I will be able to use this antenna. Just switch the receiver and I am still in business. In the mean time, I will check it out to see if it does any thing fancy tomorrow. Wife just jacked it to go see a friend having a baby.
