I just picked up my '04 1500 Z66 AVY and I'm loving it.
I've been checking out the forum for a few days trying to figure out how 20'' rims and a 2/3 drop would affect my tow rating. I haven't been able to come up with any good info on this.
Is there a rule of thumb, like for each inch lowered you loose so many pounds of towing capacity? I also suspect that a lower profile tire that would be required for a 20'' rim would have a lower max weight rating.
I got the AVY primarily as a daily driver and to tow my vette on an open trailer a few times a year. I figure the trailer and car with gear will come in about 6000#. The big rims and drop wasn't originally in my plans, but these trucks just look SO COOL that way
I appreciate any thoughts and insight you guys might offer.
