Know this is short notice.

Here's something the end of this month, 30th and 31st in Hammond, LA that might be good for a GTG.  Here's the link to their web page.

How about it all you Louisiana AVer's and anybody else who'd like to be there?

We'll be there Friday night for sure.  But will go back on Sat. if that's what everyone wants.

I'm in dinged up AV an all

Oh No!!  Not you Too!!  What happened?

Mine got rear-ended about four weeks ago, been in the shop now for two weeks.  Wont be out of the body shop for at least another two weeks.  Repair estimate was just over 10 grand.  I probably won't have it back for that weekend, but will still be there if nothing changes at our work.

We would probably be good for Saturday 31st, so lets see who all wants to do something, I was there a couple of years back, man , I tell you the BBG smelled great. and the music was good.

hey i live in hammond !  but im only 18 (19 in april 11th!) do you have to be 21 to get in? WHO WANTS TO BUY ME SOME DRINKS

Hey Atrain, there is really not anything to get into , it's just street music and some BBQ vendors on the street on Cate St. , but it should be a great time, maybe we will see you there.

oh cool i know where cate street is, theres a bar right there thats really popular on monday nights.. so is it friday or saturday?

Hey. preach, we are going down Sat around noon, or there about. It's according to which way you are coming, if you are coming down I-55, you could stop by here(we are only a mile off the Interstate) and we could roll down together. If you are going the other way, the function is on the Train Tracks right in the middle of town, so we could meet you there, let us know >:D

Hey guys, I haven't replied to this topic because I knew I wouldn't be able to go.  I had surgery on Thursday and I have 23 stitches in my neck.  Can't turn my head  very easily.  Hope you all have a good time, drink one for me.

OK gals and guys, it's time for the Smokin Blues, Hammond, LA Friday and Saturday. We are going to go on Saturday about 12 noon. The whole thing happens along the Train Tracks in the middle of town. There will be music, food and good times for all ages and tastes. We will meet up with anyone else going at the Amtrak Station at High Noon :welcome: Unless of course if anyone has a better idea of a place to meet. If anyone is coming north down I-55 we could meet up here in Kentwood and motor down together. RSVP

Hey Tangi,

We'll sure see you there at noon.  Sorry for not posting sooner, work's been long every day this week.  I still don't know if I'll have my AV back by then, but it won't stop us from being there.  We're going Friday night to hear the group perform.  Used to go to a little place in Hammond called SugaCanes quite a bit and they were the house band there.

Dpreacher, if you don't come down I-55 and meet up with Tangi, we'll be heading in from a little ways west.  Let us know.

Johnny, we'll meet you at the train station at noon.  We'll be the one in the dirty SOM Avalanche with a scraped up front fender.   DPreacher, if you come down I-49 and the come in on I-10 from Lafayette I can meet you in Gonzales and we'll ride in together.  If you come down I-55 you can meet Tangi in Kentwood and come down with him.  I'm not sure which way would be shorter, it's probably pretty close to the same either way.  BTW, I hate to say this but they are predicting some rain for Saturday.

Kajun

Johnny,

You sure you want to be around all us?  You are going to have the only AV there without some damage to it.  Seems to be catching.

That's good too.  We'll likely be in the rental, a GMC Canyon.  It's OK, but doesn't have near the room or ride the AV does.  I can't wait to get mine back.  Hopefully it won't be too much longer, it's already been almost four weeks in the shop now.

Johnny,  from a couple years ago, do you know if there's a "best" area to park?

OK, We'll see you all there.  It that parking is full we'll probably try further down by the college where the tennis courts were/are.  Only a couple of blocks away.
