Snugtop Canopy QA pics etc Bed Topper

Hey TDC.  Glad you got your Snugtop.  How do you like it?  Is it worth the trip and the price?

Dave R.

Dave Snugtop is great I had a 2 in thick piece of foam custom cut to fit tight between the midgate and the tailgate. On our spring break trip to FL my teenagers and golden loved it they could just crawl over the midgate and stretch out and sleep. First trip in along time I didn't have to listen to the wining about how much more comfortable the suburban with 3 seats is this alone was worth the cost and the drive.

Hey guys, any way you can post pics of the tailgate down with the back window of the snugtop up?? From the looks of some pics I've seen there is something that looks like a bar still between these when both open.  Also, do any of you have copies of the instructions that include the bolts, etc that should come with the unit?? Sorry, I am about to buy one used and want to make sure I have everything needed to get this puppy on right the first time.  Thanks.

there's no bar. lemme see if i still have pics in my computer. i had some of SJudson, HerAvy & Harveys...I know some were on my old (crashed) computer...but I might still have Laurie's...

oh, and BTW, what you are prolly seeing is the "bedpanels" still in so it looks like a bar...you can remove them or leave them in with the snugtop for double decker storage (y)

Saw that and thought that was an added bonus!!  Already thinking of having a custom box of sorts for someone to sit if they choose to sit in the back or something and saw the custom AV carpet too!!
But anyone with instructions or more info on these please forward to me or post please!!

sorry, yndio...i dont have HerAvys pics anymore...and she's been MIA on here...have you pm'd Oviedo? He's even got the "marine hatches" installed so he can still use his saddlebags...

Just PM'ed him.  I would do the hatch thing, but don't want to lose the coolers for whenever I were to pull off the top.  Been thinking of making a bedslide with a compartment in the bottom for stuff also.  This might be the reason to do it since I'm gonna lose the functionality of the side bins.

Sorry when I asked the installer for Instructions he told me there were none???? Didn't bother to argue figured I could figure it out if I ever want to take it off.

These snugtops seem to be a big mystery.  What is missing most are the pics of the inside.  Does anyone have really detailed pics of the inside, the seams, the saddlebag mods, fit and finish, sail panels, etc.

Where can I get the lowest price on one of these in Bermuda Blue to match my rig?  yndio, where did you get your instructions?

Does anyone near or in NC have one?

Thanks,

Tom

Who has the best price on the snugtop painted to match my Bermuda Blue and delivered to NC?

Still looking for detailed pics of the inside of this thing?

Does anyone in the NC area have one?

Thanks,

Tom

call 1-800- SNUGTOP they will be able to give you your closest dealer location.  Where are you located??  My bet is if you're in the midwest you should be fine.

I am in NC.  They have a dealer in Missouri, but that one jacks his prices way up...something like $2500 + crating and shipping.  There are several in the CA area doing it for something like $2000 installed.  I heard they could be had for as low as $1900 including shipping though.  Just not sure where that is from.

Yea 2500 is about right.  If you go to CA and get it installed...... you're spending a lot more on gas.

check out the SNUGtop website for yourself... then if you really want to talk to somebody in California about shipping one to you, you should call American Camper Shells and ask for a guy named Mark.? I used to work there several years ago, and I'm sure by mentioning that I sent you that you'd already have a good chance at the best possible rate.

PM me if you'd like additional information.

Y, actually, you dont loose any function  of the sire bins, but actually retain the use. Marine hatches are waterproof, so in the unlikely event that I pulled of my Snugtop, the side boxes would still work as original equipment. Having the hatch covers is great, I use the storage areas alll of the time. Usually 1 side filled with detail equipment, the other side filled with strobe supplies.

Hmm, might have to look into this O.  Thanks.

Tampa, Fl here- mine was $2100 installed at Ideal Automotive.

Has anyone been able to locate a soft cap like Bestop?  I would prefer not to lose the use of the saddlebags like you do with the Snugcap, and want to protect my dogs from the weather.  It would not have to be 100% watertight.

That is what I have been trying to tell everyone. You do not have to lose the use of the saddlebags, the hatch acces covers work very well, and are a great solution!
