Very nice.? I think eventually I am going to have to lift mine.?

Who is going to be next and show us theirs?

Tom

Not so sure what the deal is with the members who have the SnugTop XUV.  I don't think there have many members who have posted pics of the SnugTop other than the exterior of it.  It would be nice to see pics of how it is secured to the back of the Av, as well as what the inside of the shell looks like.  How the windows open, how the sail panel windows are installed, ect..

So I'm with you Tom, I too would like to see more pics of the whole ordeal.

I will try to make some more pics then. I would say that the fit and finish is even better on the inside. Windows are nice, interior is great, and the fitment to the AV is perfect. I no longer use my rear window at all, and living here in Florida with the heavy rain storms has caused zero leaks.

I am heading back to Raleigh tomorrow for the weekend.? The word is that the Snugtop is on and just needs the wiring to be done.? We have a decent sized GTG at Hugz house, so hopefully it will be all functional on Saturday.?

It is my understanding that a female CAFCNA member in Florida also has a Bermuda Blue Snugtop.  Where are the pics of that one?

Tom

I have been on the road for work, but here is a pic taken the night I picked the Av up at the dealer with the Snugtop on it.

BCChev says I need to lift it a little bit now.

Hey guys, do the toppers come with a users manual, etc??  I have the install manual but need more in depth stuff as to what it should have come with, etc.  Anyone have the e-lock??  I got quoted $130 in parts and labor is a whopping $180.  Let me know if you guys can get a better deal.  I still have the tailgate auto lock that I haven't installed and might be time to do both at same time.

mine brand new didn't have a manual. What do you need to know? Mine didn't really seem to require a manual.

1st is what accessories are available??  2nd, the interior light is to be hard wired to the 12 volt but has no instructions on how to do it.  All I have is the wiring for it.  Also, is it absolutely necessary to make the hole in the side bin?? It seems pointless to do that when you can probably route the wires instead.  Whaddya think guys?? I know the wax thing is common sense, but dunno, thought since these things are so expensive they would have given you guys something.

very nice.  Hey guys what have you done to take care of the howl coming in from the back window?? Mine seems to be a bit loose. If I hit a good bumb I could hear the window make a noise.  Is there any way to tighten it up??

I don't seem to have any howl in mine.  Who has the howling with their Snugtop?

Hey,
I have a top that came with my new to me 04' Av. I took it off the day we bought the truck because my wife didn't like it. Actually, it was not really gonna work for us with the hauling we do. I always liked toppers. I've owened them in the past and have always been a great add on for me.

It's in great shape, it is white, it was factory installed, it has grey carpet, make me an offer....If your truck is not white... I'll take in the fact that you'll have to paint it, as long as you give me time to see if I can find a buyer who has a white truck that it matches.

Well I decided that I needed the Snugtop for my Avalanche.   I just needed the extra space, and it was that or buy a crew cab pickup, but I really do love the Avalanche.   So after reading all 30 pages on this topic, and reviewing their website.   I went down to my local Chevy dealer with checkbook in hand where my hopes were immediately dashed.
The parts guy was adamant that it wasn't a Chevy accessory and the subject was closed as far as he was concerned.   Came home fired off an email to the Snugtop Company asking for information.   From what I gathered from reading this topic, was that at one time it was licensed by Chevy, and that you can still get it from some Chevy dealers, and that?s pretty much what I wanted to know from the company.   I got no response.
    So I called them, and they want 2295 for it plus 450 dollars to ship it, and they won?t ship it to a residential address, has to be commercial.   {Sigh}
So has anyone bought it fairly recently from a Chevrolet dealership?

Contact "Mark Gibbs" at "American Camper Shells" in Carson Californina.? They have an 800# so no matter where you are the call is free.? Talk to Mark, tell him that "Brad" told you to call him.? I used to work there back in the late 80's early 90's.? I am almost 100% sure that he'd be able to make you a great deal on one delivered directly to your door.

G'luck!

Brad

Thanks for the information.   That might be the way I have to go.   I have contacted other tonneau, and cap dealers around here hoping they might order me one, but they don't seem to be interested.

Thanks.

My Chevy dealer here in NC was very willing to work with me.  They ordered the cap, had it sent to them, and drove it to the body shop to have it put on for me.  Of course, there was one unforseen glitch.  When it arrived it was pastel blue instead of Bermuda.  That meant the body shop had to repaint it and Snugtop only allowed a certain amount to do it.  My dealer took care of the rest for no additional charge to me.  With customer service like that it is why I would recommend Sir Walter Chevrolet to anyone.

I wasn't too thrilled with that part, but the glitch was Snugtop's fault...not my dealer.  Someone at Snugtop could not read the words Bermuda Blue in big letters on the order form.  All they looked at was code 26U, which has been used multiple times by GM for different colors.
