Hey all you So Cals!
(y) Nice to "meet" with you guys. Props to Gary and Lenny for the coordination efforts and their time!
Meet #2 suggestion :0:
A co-worker of mine attended a motorcycle cruise this past weekend at Los Angeles Crest Hwy. Sounds like a great "scenic" (80 mile+/-) drive. He mentioned a little restuarant ("Newcombs"), with ample parking and good food, that's along the route. The route starts on the 2 fwy at the end of the 210 and then we would end up at the 15. I figured this location wouldn't be that much of a "stretch" for most of us?

How bout dem Lakers?

Brad in HB

GO Lakers !!

Trails and Camping. Something both the 2wd's and 4wd's will enjoy. Good idea Brad. I have been along that stretch.

Anyone buy that Beach House in Mexico yet ?
Cabin on the lake ?
Cabin in the Mountains?

Hello all,

It was great to meet you all yesterday. That idea sounds like fun nothing like a tille road trip plus we can stretch the av's legs a bit anyhow that would be cool too. well later all

:) I like the idea of a road trip. I noticed that the Washington area group found a location that had both 2wd and 4wd roads. Fun for all.

I would also like to have Lenny run a "class" or demonstration on how to install his automatic tailgate lock and light microswitch modifications. It is a low cost/high value mod needing a large dose of know how and time. ;D

I am ready, got to try the tent.. It was a great day.. Lets do a cruise for the next one. I also like the idea of the personal walkie talkies so we can all communicate while on the road.

Gary

Sounds like fun guys, I'm ready Let's go!! ;D

I also would like to second that micro switch mod class by Lenny.

Is there any group buy's for the Kenwood walkie talkies?

Sam

No worries gang,

If there is a shop that we can use then we can all do it at the same time. The Actuator is only $25.00 (lock/unlock) and the door switch is $5.00 (Cargo Lights)
I have all the wire at my disposal as well as electrical connectors. I also get VHB Double sided tape and Adhesive remover at a very low cost

Just find a location and pick a weekend.

Len

Lenny,

Let's do it. We will need a little time to get a firm head count for parts and materials and to find a location that will let us work on the AVs. How about the weekend of July 6/7.

I am in for the full change, lock and lights. Anyone else?

As for a location, most parks do not allow auto repair in their parking lots. We will need to get permission to use someones parking lot. Does anyone have any ideas?

It was great meeting all of you on Sunday.
I'm ready for a cruise or whatever you guys come up with.
Count me in for the tailgate mods also.
RE: Somewhere to do the mods. I work at Santa Monica College and getting the use of a parking lot on a weekend shouldn't be a problem. If this sounds ok, let me know.

Don...

The only drawback to doing it in a parking lot is the sun and the heat. we really need to be in a covered and clean environment where we can lay the tailgate down on a table or bench to work on it. (For the Actuator install).

I got my Door Lock Actuator (2 Wire) and door switch from Al and Ed's Auto Sound in Huntington Beach. I am pretty sure that all the Al and Ed's locations carry them.

Cant make it july 6/7 as i will be coming home from my july 4th river trip. anyhow i am trying to see if my buddy may let us use his shop only drawback is you all will have to drive to rancho cucamonga. another thought is where i work in gardean i will talk to my boss anyhow later all..

I am also interested in the mod. I can't think of a place that we can use. Between the group hopefully we can come up with something that will work.
