I'm looking at purchasing an av this weekend and so far with a lot of phone work I am not able to beat the "gm in the driveway" price by much. Any recent southern California buyers out there..... what kind of price have you gotten relative to MSRP? Right now I'm looking at $8100 - $8300 below MSRP. Thanks in advance.

I purchased my AV from Power Chevrolet in Irvine, with $9,100 off including rebates on Dec. 30th, 2003. I saw an add a couple of weeks ago for $8600 off sticker. They are a high volume dealer. Check their ad out in the paper for the Irvine area, they may have a good sale going on again.

What kind of price relative to MSRP did the Costco get you? Thanks.

Mine was $200 over book, before the incentives which was another $4000 off that for me!. I picked it up a year ago on the 28th.

Heck, it won't hurt to try..
What Costco does is deal with fleet managers of area dealers; low bidder wins, from what I hear. I'm sure there's other criteria.

Edit: There's a member that works for Tustin Chevrolet, If I could only remember who! :-[ :E:

That's Him!
But it doesn't look like's been updating....

thecavalry, where in SoCal are you?

I'm out in the desert in Ridgecrest. About 2 1/2 hours n.e. of LA. The hard part is finding the av with the config I want at a CA dealer. I'm fairly new to CA and the CA emmisions requirement is sure annoying. It would be nice to be able to buy out of state.....plenty of what I want in Arizona.....oh well! Thanks to all for the info so far!

Hmmm, Maybe Bakersfield, but I'll bet you'll get it cheaper toward L.A. I don't know what'll hapen if you key in a zip there for a Costco thing.
I thought the trucks were 50 state now; guess not. Oh well.
At least there's GM Buypower so you can do some homework.
Good luck..

Check into it, when I did buy my 1998 VW jetta I went to visit my friend in Oregon no sales tax. I did find jetta with all I like and did buy it there, Salesman showed me EMISSION STICKER in engine compartment and was federal and CALIFORNIA emission, he said that all car and trucks sold in states around california have to be certificated for California.
I`m not absolutly sure, but if you see something in Arizona check it out is that true or not.
Only problem was that California required paying sales tax. I registered car in Oregon for 1 year.
