I came across a smoking deal on a 2002 Avalanche 2500 and decided rust be damned I had to have it. I was always a believer that if the frame was good the rest was savable. Finally got some descent weather and now Im wondering if I should have taken the chance.... Anyhow, Im glad to have it and if nothing else I should get a year or two before it rusts to pieces.

good luck with your new ride (y) (y)

I had mine neutralized and sprayed with a protective coating, but I live in the desert. I've always wanted to move somewhere in the South that has less California politics, but after seeing a few how to videos where people brake lines and Chassis were rusted to hell, I don't know if I can do that to my truck. I'd have to pull the body, and Powder coat the entire Underside before I could make a venture like that.

Rust is not an issue where I live.

If you find rust on a vehicle around here, it most likely came from somewhere else.

Having visible rust on a used vehicle around here would probably disqualify that vehicle from being sold since no one sees that much and we certainly don't know much about dealing with it.

Thank goodness.

Hope you are having good luck with it. I understand what you mean by rust. Once it starts you can stop it.
