So What did you haul in your Avalanche this weekend?

My puppies lol. They love the midgate being dow

First camping trip for old blu pulling a 24' only issue was transmission temperature reached 224 in traffic. So I will be installing either a Hayden 697 or 698 transmission cooler not much difference between the two and the $15.00 price difference doesn't matter either. Gas mileage was 10.9 average at 55 an the freeway the hour that we drove, we only went an short trip from the house to get away from all this and do some relaxing for a week. Have fun. Stay cool only suppose to be 95 today  bye

When people say it won’t fit you prove them wrong ?

Loaded up my 2015 Outlander for some fun. It did take some finesse but she fit like a glove!

Hi, I have a 2012 Z71 LT Avalanche with the trailer package. I just bought a new trailer that is 26.5' long and weighs 5,200 lbs. Loaded up it will probably be 6,000 lbs. I just bought a Curt TruTrack 10,000 lb. weight distribution hitch. https://www.curtmfg.com/part/17501 . The tongue weight is 1,000 lbs.

Is this truck going to be able to handle it ? Some guys install air bags but my suspension shop says they don't last and get holes in them. To install variable rate spings instead.

Should I be looking at beefing up the rear suspension somehow ? Do I need a better transmission cooler ?

I've had Air Lift bags on since I bought the truck 17 years ago with no issues with the bags leaking. I imagine the off-road guys are the ones who have had issues with them, with debris hitting them. My bags were a great investment for the amount of towing I do, being able to level the load.

X2 on my 1500 and now on the 2500. When I researched to installing variable springs I was advised not to run them for towing.
But that was about 12 years back.

Hauled a New dishwasher yesterday to our house.

the old one was stuck in some mode and the buttons on top were not clicking they were worthless.
So I took apart the Dishwasher and got to the board for these switches...
WHAT a CRAPPY DESIGN GE!
buttons do not seal so water can get in.... and board around switch was black and I guess burnt.
Wife saw it and freaked out for fear of catching house on fire - (yeah possible I guess)

So FYI makes sure your Dishwasher controls if on top are like a touchscreen and no way for water to get past.
If on front way different as water does not collect on front but it can on top from wet hands opening the door and putting a few things in..

My siblings and I are purchasing a 70" TV for my mom to go in her newly remodeled home.

I went to a local Best buy to pick it up.

In a classic Avalanche moment, when the two workers carted out the TV in its shipping box, they asked me to pull my vehicle up to the curb in front of the store.

As I dropped the tailgate, one of them asked if I had any straps.

I said "Don't need any. Just use care when you slide the box across the rubber mat. It doesn't let things slide on it very well."

They proceeded to slide the box across the tailgate and into the covered bed and I had to direct them to "Keep on going."

The box extended onto the dropped midgate.

I then closed the tailgate and bid them a good day.

I'm thinking he thought the box was going to slide off of the open tailgate and out onto the highway if I didn't strap it down.

Not today, buddy.

Not today.

:) (y)

An 85 gallon replacement water pressure tank for my home (lawn sprinklers ya know). Replaced the old one that has a leaking bladder and won't hold air. Now the well pump doesn't come on and off at every flush of the toilet. Looks like the old tank would turn into a very nice meat smoker, but wife is already prompting me to get rid of it. She's probably right - if I want a smoker, just buy one. Maybe I will!!

Four humans, three kayaks, three bicycles, two dogs and a whole lotta other stuff. I do think it's time to invest some much, much stouter springs. I also miss my rear jounce bumpers that rusted away. I also need to adjust the shocks to Maxx setting but I couldn't when it was so weighed down. This thing was swaying like a battleship in a hurricane.

you need a bus! or trailer.

We saw one of those 4x4 Sprinter campers at lunch today and lusted over it. One slight challenge - $$$$$$$

An Earthroamer is what I really crave bit those things cost more than my house. Maybe time to upgrade to a 2500.

Had a little chuckle. Had a craigslist buy, a 72" stained glass side light. The guy stood outside and watched
us load it. It was on plywood and a I had a full sheet in The Avy. Slid it in and drove away.
