So What did you haul in your Avalanche this weekend?

Been loading the back end the last couple weekends as we get rid of last few items of my father-in-law's house before we close on selling it.

Last Sunday bringing home a few things for our house plus my lawnmower as I cut the grass.

Last Saturday getting some junk out of it for our Township's junk days.

And today as loaded 500 pounds of filing cabinets and a table to take to the recycling place.  Seems nobody uses filing cabinets these day as we couldn't sell them even for a few bucks.

Yeah, Josie's thrilled after loading the filing cabinets.  lol

Hauled a Glider the wife wanted for when she gives birth here in a month or so.

Hauled a whole lot of fun

On a side note we were at a fairly small state park campground this weekend in North-Central PA, less than 100sites, and there were at least six Avalanches there.

Helped the future Mother-In-Law move move in her new living room set.
Sofa, loveseat and recliner made the trip in the bed while coffee table, and 2 end tables rode in the back with the folded midgate.
Only thing I had to take out was the subwoofers under the seat.

LOL, I just moved in our new living room set last night.  But since i had the family with me. I brought the little 8ft trailer to carry the couches, everything else was in the bed.

I just hauled my Explorer from Marshall to Salisbury.  My wife normally drives the Explorer.  I haven't really driven it in a couple months.  The last time I drove it, a wheel bearing came apart on it.  And then my wife wants to trade vehicles and the alternator gives up 5 min away from my destination. :E:  It seems to like to break when I have it, :needhug: but tbh I'd rather it was me on the side of the road than her.  Now let me get to the fun stuff. You ever have to tow a trailer that you wasn't sure about in the first place.  Well i got my explorer on this trailer that just didn't feel safe to me.  The owner even said "make sure that you check the air in the tires."  Which of course, but i know this trailer, at times, the tires don't even hold air.  :beating: So its a crap shoot with this one.  So, I load the Explorer, and the straps he gives me to tie it down to the trailer with look like cargo strap but he assures me these are for a car.  So I double up everything.  Got it tied down and still not comfortable about this. and i take off.  In every town with a gas station I am checking straps, making sure nothing moved.  I make it to the corner for the street I live on and some thing really bizarre happens.  The wheel comes off the trailer and one of the straps breaks.  :damon: I'm so lucky that happened near my house rather than while I was on the road.  I will never borrow that trailer ever again.  It has 4 different size tires and one of the rims a is a trans am beehive rim.  That's the rim that came off.  thinking about it I think it only had 3 lugs in it. :E:  I'm still thinking about that.  FML, I am going to repair it and the axle and give it back, but that trailer might as well not exist in my eyes.

Dropped a bit too much money at Sam's club yesterday and actually entered this century.  Finally replaced our 13 year old CRT TV with a flat panel.  Of course, we had to get a stand for for it.  As much as this thing has been hacking me off with the unexpected repairs, the amount of stuff we've hauled over the last month or so is making me appreciate it more and more.  :B:

It's sad to hear you're having problems with yours yet I saw a yellow cladded with 240k at the flea market that looked like it had been through the ringer. The owner wasn't a very pleasant person either  (n)

The problems I've had wouldn't bug me so much if I didn't overpay for it and get shafted by the used car dealer on the clock spring issue.  Putting it to use as it's meant to be has brought the smile back to my face.

Sounds like the Avy at the flea market needs to find an Avy rescue forever home.

More minor hauling this past weekend.  Bought an 11.5 HP chipper-shredder to take care of all the blasted honeysuckle I cut down the weekend prior.  It even seems to match the Bumblebee.  >:D

And here is all the stuff I need to take car of, some of which I already have.

I upgraded my 2004 60' Sony Wega and recently picked up a 60' Sony Bravia smart TV myself, fit perfectly in my bed without lowering the midgate :)

For the past couple weeks, we've been hauling a ton of camping gear during our trip to Algonquin Provincial Forrest in Canada.  All I can say is the Snugtop proved very handy and gave us that extra bit of space we needed.  I left the bed panels in to create a double decker storage system that worked great.

Here it is at the camp ground as we pulled stuff out to cook dinner.

Here it is when we got home before unpacking - loaded to the gills.  The blue garbage can is my impromptu saddle bag.

I also dropped the back window that allowed the kids to keep pillows, snacks etc. within reach without taking up all their seating area like last year's trip.  That worked like a charm.

Hauled all the stuff for my daughter's dorm room.  We moved her into the University of Cincinnati today where she will be studying Industrial Design.  I told her she needs to quickly make friends with Juniors who have decided to pursue the Automotive track and convince them to design a better Snugtop that allows access to the saddle bags.  Of course, she just rolls her eyes at me.

Awww she is all grown up, did you tell her don't come back.

We had a family friend when he turned 18 (legal drinking age at the time) and was moving out to college his dad handed him a case of beer and said go make some friends and don't come back.  but hey me too I moved up here about a month ago and will be taking my Calc class and working full time to put my self through school.

I finally got my poor avy a sub to fill my off road sightseeing and some adrenaline addiction. Here is my 2003 honda cr250r it's a two stroke first time with a bike like this. I rode fourwheelers and owned some but nothing that got up and went like this does! Here's some pics of her in the truck when I got it and after my first ride when we got back in the dark.

Also here is a couple from the trail this first one I slipped in  a spot then whiskey throttled it, meaning grabbed hard on the bars and in turn gave it more throttle. Anyway I missed the trees but I rode the bike to that spot. Where you see me pack I just I clipped it and stood up after I wedged it there I fell off spun around the tree and slid down the hill.

Just ate up some 12 foot pieces of siding like they were nothing!  A great truck to have on a rainy long weekend.

I'm embarking on the Avalanche's new home.  Vastly renovated double garage with shop, raised ceilings (for a lift) and boat port.  If you want to see my progress, come on over to Garage Journal:

I like your garage but is there enough head room for the AV to go on the lift?
