We have a meet scheduled for Sunday Sept 22nd. The idea being circulated is a cruise and lunch in the Angeles National Forest. Presumably we would meet in the vicinity of the #5 Fwy and the #2 Fwy and take Angeles Crest Highway to a park area for a bring your own lunch meet. Does anyone have any other ideas?? Anyone want to plan a route?? Please contact me with suggestions/comments.

I like the idea, however I've only been up to the Angeles National Forest a couple of times and that was over three years ago. Please contact me if I can be of any help.

never been in that forest at all he only sugesstion is lets try to have some sort of route planned for this one. also 2 way frs radios would be good. anyhow look forward to another cruise and good time l8ter all

I just e/mailed everyone on the in the Southern California Avalanche Fan Club. I also sent information on the two way radios. ?Lenny and I will try and meet and scout out a route the week before. Anyone interested in the scouting mission let me know. Meet is scheduled for Sunday September 22nd.

I don't know it's a good idea. Right now there is a fire going on in there. I know the fire won't last that long, but sometimes part of the area could be close.

Of all the rotton................. My mother-in-law flies in that day... arg.... I will do my best to attend though. And I still did not get a club mailing. I think my e-mail software must be filtering you out. Eliminated it now, can you try to e-mail me again Aegis?

Hope to see you all.

Jonathan & Heather

Would be interested if you ever plan a drive up to santa Ynez wine country (Santa Barbara + 1 hr). Pretty drive over San Marcos pass, and, of course, the vino.....

There's also Firestone Brewery up there. We could arrange a group tour or two; perhaps of the brewery operation and at winery. Winter months are great up there. Crush is over, crowds are gone, and winery staff has time to spend with you. Just a thought...

I might actually be free that weekend. a Santa Barbara/Santa Ynez drive might be cool. Have lunch @ Pea Soup Andersen's... ;D

Dang! I sure hope more people are interested in this So. Cal. cruise. I already got Grandma lined up to watch my kids this time.

And Besides.....I'm dyin' to see Xrover's Truck!

Ok everyone since I put out the second e/mail a few more have responded. We now have 8 total interested in the meet for the 22nd.. Let me know it you all still want to go for it.

I will put out another e/mail if the concensus is to have the meet.

We are in, just need to be back to the Van Nuys Flyaway to pick up Mother-in-Law at 3:00.... :(

Better short cruise than none cruise. :)

And Aegis, I STILL didn't get a club mailing.

It appears that there are now about 10 for Sept 22nd.. I will put out another e/mailing tonight or tomorrow to confirm with everyone that we are a go.

Lenny and I need to put a route together, maybe this Sunday. Lets see if as many as possible can get the two way radios this should be a big help also.

Openminds I'll check and see what happened, but I printed your address out and will be sure to add it.

Gary

I picked up a couple of Motorola T5410 two way radios today. 54.00 with tax.

Jonathan,,hopefully you got an e/mail from me concerning the meet.

See you all on the 22nd

Did you decide on a route?

I thought I was included in the emails for the SoCal club but I guess not. This is the first I've heard of this which is short notice but I'll do my best to attend.
Hope to see you all there.

I didn't really want to start a new post....so I thought I'd just ask in here.

I'm just wonderin' how many So Cal members we actually have here on the site.?

We have more So Cal members then have expressed interest in the cruise.

I am planning on being there with Big Blue.

I have not been able to pick up a radio. Funds are super tight now.

I wish that you all have a great time this weekend. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to make it. I'm going to the river while the summer is still here. Have fun everyone, and I hope to be at the next one. Take care.... :B:

I'm in as long as I pick up my brandy new 2500 4x4 Av this week. Can't wait and I'm looking forward to seeing all the other Avs as well (and talking about modifications).

How do I sign up for the SoCal group?

Please keep me posted as to time, place and date.

Cya!
