Southern Indiana Fall Colors Cookout and Cruise October 24th

Well  I made an executive decision this morning when I got up at 3, I'm taking the morning off, lol,  we should be there on time or well before.

Didit

btw the zuchinni bread is at your own risk, the recipe lu has called for three cups of sugar, we've had it before and its pretty good, but I asked her to cut back on the sugar to one cup, blame me, its edible ok but just not as tasty as I had expected from the others she had made with this recipe.

Greg thanks for putting this together it was awesome, a little sunshine would have been nice but still, was a nice day, made it home about quarter till seven just in time for Molly's shot.

It was a tie three AV's, three Vettes, awesome the Chev Mean n Lean crew.  It was nice meeting your Vette Friends and Mentholized who came from Michigan to join us in his AV, fantastic.

Again thanks it was awesome and been way to long!

enjoy the pics,

Medora In, the longest covered bridge in the USA, pretty awesome,  built in 1875 to span the east fork of the white river. Vehicular traffic ceased in 1972 just three years shy of 100 years of service.

What a grear combination of Chevy vehicles.

4 Avalanches.. two first gen, two second gen (one one of these was a Black Diamond edition).

3 Corvettes, a C5, C6, and C7.

Great pics guys!  Here's some that I managed to find time to take.

The bottom pic is of Didit taking the pic of the view in the 2nd pic which he's got posted above.

A few more.

I was very glad the rain held off until we started the cruise and had finished the cookout.

It was a shame that the West Baden Hotel was closed for a private event.  Something to look forward to for next year I guess!

when we pulled into our homes driveway Saturday evening @ 10pm, the trip odometer showed 430 miles.

That stupid band of rain we got into on the way home... was moving in the same direction we were; couldn't get out from underneath it.  We stopped at Applebees off I-71, took a break, and the center heavy-rain part of it  moved by.  There were some sections on I-71 where we only drove 50mph (70mph speed limit); the rain was heavy (visibility issues) and there was some hydroplaning on occasion.

Still grateful that the rain didn't start until the event was over -  and on our way back home.

Next time, if I ever drive to Frenck Lick again, we're spending the night !  But not in the main hotel, and not  in the other hotel neither... (instead sleeping in the car -  out in the parking lot)  :)

It's a pleasant drive from over here to your neck of the woods if the weather is nice.  Not so much driving in a heavy rain.  :p

Mike - I love the pic of the Mrs and our granddaughter.  The little one had a good time, but asked Amber on their way home if they could pray to God for a better slide.  I think she wants to come back.   :D

LOL cute, on a side note, the Lane Motel there on the strip is an older motel certainly, but its clean and cozy from what I hear, reasonable.  Also there is a Comfort Inn about two to three miles west of town, fairly new building, I think maybe two years at the most, not sure of their rates.

If anyone that couldn't attend had any reservations about Corvettes being there...

If you're an old geezer like me, you have memories from the 1970's and the Corvette "pricks" from back then.  Well; Corvette owners are now... old geezers like the rest of us !!! :D

The tour was casually  driven, the  sites and scenery were well viewed; the combination of Avalanches and Corvettes went together well.  Congrats to Greg for coming up with this idea

I hope there's one next year.  (y)

Who you calling a prick that owned a corvette in the 70s.

uhh.... me ... and you ???

interesting, that no matter what type of person you were back then... if you had that car, you were still considered a prick.

I don't know about that in the 70s a 427 Corvette made you sponge worthy  (y)

I grew up in Detroit all my friends had Road Runners Firebirds Z28s Hemi GTX or Corvettes.

Hated that gtx only one could not beat in stock form.
