Spare Tire Rack/Carrier

Hi, just picked up my 2003 WBH Z71 this past Friday. It is by far the best truck I have ever owned.

But, there is always room to improve! Mod On!

I have been trying to find a spare tire carrier like in this pic so that I can avoid screwing up the spare while offroading.

Anyone know where it can be found?

looks custom made for trailer hitch thingy.....

I bet you coukld get a local fab shop to make ya one......

Maybe I'll stop at the local weld shop tomorrow to see what they can do. Searching the other posts didn't bring up quite what I'm looking for.

The nice thing about the one you found is that it still allows you to use your receiver which is quite helpful if you ever plan on trailering (that's when you'll REALLY want a spare along for the ride).

There are others on the Web but they probably won't have the towing capability.

You should be able to get someone to make one of these for a LOT less than the $429 they list. Should be really easy to do everything except perhaps the spring. Even keeping the trailer hitch capability shouldn't be that hard as long as they make the horizontal piece strong enough.
